Kinda stinks that they aren't doing minaturizations with the Decepticons. The movie seems to be going for a much more realistic look and approach and the physics behind those transformations is kinda impractical.

I still can't get over Bumblebee. My complaint with him though is that he isn't a bug and that is the fault of Volkswagon. Apparently they felt a few years back that they did not want their vehicle associated with a violent cartoon. I know there are people out there that bought yellow bugs just to slap on an autobot decal

The history of Hollywood taking something from the past and ruining it has been a big tradition. Here are a few examples:

Tomb Raider
Super Mario Bros.
Captain America
Flash (which really was a cool early 90's movie)
Street Fighter
DOOM
etc...

They change way too much of the real story and substitute it with something lame because they have NO clue what the ruckus is about nor who the characters really are and what they stand for and mean. They only like to capitalize on a franchise because it is or was popular at one point and time and then they take their checks to the bank without losing one nights sleep worrying about weather or not they destroyed a franchise's foundation.

The only way that Transformers can get away with this is because there are so many different planes of parallel stories of this franchise (Beast Wars, Energon, etc..) that perhaps (PERHAPS) they just might not make too many people angry.


.... but I seriously doubt it....

On a positive note: Kudos for getting the original voice actor of OPrime to play the voice of OPrime. This is what makes it worth seeing for me.

ok.. so I sort of went "full tilt" on this, and that's not fair since I haven't seen the movie yet. So I apologize for the short fuse, it's just that I'm so fed up with HW playing games with many of the things I hold dear that it really is frustrating to me.

But I can't make fun of the movie, since I dont know every detail, ect. I've heard of how "detailed" it is, sounds cool, ...I just heard about the spoofs, so it's probably old already.

But, If they did Transformers in a video game, it sounds similar from what 9VChiken says about Robotech/Battletech/Mechwarrior, and a few other things. but it might be really cool, IMO, I would rather see Tronfomation warefare in that crap, so I could get a little Tron action....

Okay I am probably one of if not the biggest Transformer nuts in this entire forum. If you lived with me you would know how much lol (my room is littered with original and reissued transformer figures and logos lol)

Okay firstly I was a lil put off by Bay doing this movie. I mean a song in Team America said it all "Why does Michael Bay get to keep making movies"

Secondly I was angry for a while when both him and Steven Spielberg went around saying this is going to be true to Generation One! And that it was going to be made and aimed towards them. And that just turned out to be a hook to get all the original fan base around the movie. So it made me very angry when they decided to change the whole thing completely.

Okay now down to the robots themselves. Bay decided not to go with part compression during transformations because apparently and I Quote "It is not realistic for Giant robots to turn into small things like Boomboxes or hand guns" okay so Mr Bay says that this is unrealistic but giant robots who are millions of years old which can transform into just about anything of their choosing is realistic enough........Riiiiiight.

The style of the robots is good at first I hated them they looked like Bionicles. But the more I see of Prime the more I like the look of him. He does look like a Prime, basically in my opinion if it isnt Generation one it sucks (and that is generally true lol). Getting Peter Cullen back to Voice Optimus Prime was a good move. I mean after shafting the Generation One fans with the Big lie they got Steven Spielberg to tell all the Gen one fans they had to do something.

But lets move onto Megatron Hugo Weaving????? Okay, this is my biggest concern and issue about the movie. Mr Bay didnt think that the original voice for Megatron would cut it for the movie YET!!!!! he is okay for the game???? Excuse me????? firstly we have Hugo Weaving for the movie and I shudder at the thought and all I have going in my mind is "Mr Optimus!" over and over. But we have the original Megatron voice in the game. WHY!!!??? this is why I have Bay he just doesnt go for consistancy and he has strupid ideas like that.

Starscream (everyones Fav badguy) I am releaved to hear his voice and know that it is good. I am super glad that he is still a back stabbing lpower hungry little moron of a Decepticon as it should be.

Spike/Sam issue, my only problem with this is that Bay (surprise surprise) thought that Spike is not a name you would give a person its more what you would call a Dog. Yet his dad is still called Sparkplug, although apparently these are just nicknames, go figure.

I wont even get into swapping names of decepticons and autobots around.

So as you can see I have mixed issues about this movie. Visually it looks good, but then again so did "War of the Worlds" and we all know how much that was like the book, lets see it had the same title......Tripods........Red weed.........and thats it.

I am trying not to get into the Hype for this because I feel that its going to be a big dissapointment for Hard core generation one fans like myself. I'll just have to wait and see, but expect a very long and lengthy review of the movie by myself once its out. (as if this post wasnt long enough lol)

apparently advertisements in this movie are extream. ipods, yahoo xbox even the toys were to make an appearance but bay was stopped by the advertisement companies.
