Gongrats on your entrance in to the driving elite!
Well, there's really nothing elite about it once you're part of it. It always seemed a whole lot cooler before you could drive. Once you can drive and the initial "wow" factor is over, it's just surviving the roads that are full of jerks just waiting to cut you off, not let you merge, come to a complete stop at a yellow light (WTF is up with that one?), ever so slowly switch lanes without signaling, drive for miles with their signal on the whole time (usually the older folks), and of course SLAM in to your can and then blame the whole thing on YOU!
But aside from that, driving ain't all that bad.
Here's to driving!
Er... wait a minute, better not if you're about to go driving.

Nice going
Just one question, Is working a stick shift with your left hand as hard as I think it is?

well, you see, I've never driven a car in any "drive on the right hand side" country, such as the US, so I don't know any different.
since left hand "stick shift" (we call it manual transmission over here) is how I learnt to drive [and being left handed anyway] I find it easy, but I think if I were to head over to the US and rent a car, or if you headed over here and did the same, it would be quite a challenge.

Woo, congratulations, Prankster bit!
My brother had his second test on the 16th, and only just failed it (on the parallel park).
Open question to American drivers on the forum: what do you have to do (at least in your state) for your license? I'm interested to know how it differs to over here in the UK.

The following Summer after I got my DL was one of the best summers of my life. I spent most of my time up town cruz'n with my friends... chasing girls.... going to pool halls.
Wow... that was 1993...

Sorry to hear about your bro. I hope next time will be more fortunate.
Hmmm...what do we do for our license...
I'm not exactly sure, but to pass my Driver's Ed class, I had to drive down a straight line in reverse, angle park, parallel park, three-point u-turn, sudden stop and drive around the course.

That's pretty much the exact same tests we have to do here in Canada. I suspect that there won't be very much difference for the actual tests done, between all the various countries. It's more a matter of how long it takes you to get from the start to the end, with the license finally in your hand.
Congrats on getting your license, Prankster Bit! I know how elated I felt when I got mine. Finally had the freedom to travel wherever and whenever I wanted.
I won't offer a drink to celebrate your achievement, so I'll do what TheReelTodd does and give you some build points instead.

Well, I learned on an automatic (and I'm right handed), so I'd be hopeless either way.
