Interviewed

on Sunday, March, 25, 2007 5:36 PM
Wow.. I was interviewed about my videos from some UK site. Once I get the address I'll post it... Wow..

Anyways... I was sent an e-mail about my videos on YouTube and here is the review. I would have posted this on my own thread, but I'm too excited and want to start a new one..

Don't think that I think I"m such a big deal... I know I'm a dog turd... lol..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

>>>1. Are you going to do a personal top 10 amiga video?

Oh yeah... I'm sort of saving it for Christmas.. well.. or sooner.. I'm not sure yet.

>>>2. Are you going to introduce rating systems? maybe a percentage for graphics sound that is relevant to time of production

After my next review (Shadow Of the Beast II). I'm calling it my "Re-caps" of games that I already reviewed. I have a lot of serious and funny ideas running through my head. It won't be anything that you have seen yet. I plan on doing this for each volume (well... thats what I'm going to call it) which will consist of either 5 to 6 reviews. I'm glad you caught on. No one else asked me about this yet.. Very cool.

>>>3. Are you using an emulator? or a real amiga? do you use the arcade emulator mame, I do its cool.

My poor Amiga 500 was subject to an explosion. This isn't a joke. Back in 1998 there was a massive thunderstorm in my area and our transformer was struck by lighting which resulted in a very very massive power surge. My A500 (and I was near it at that time and it was off) just went berserk. A friend of mine said that it saved my life... but he drinks too much.. lol..

I'm using WinUAE. I also have some home brew software that I'm using to record. To compile everything and add effects, I'm using some lame program I found at Best Buys. It's called 'Studio 10'. It's not bad but I would rather be using an Amiga 4000 with a Video Toaster.

MAME? What is that? Just kidding. Since I really own many classic arcade game machines, It is natural for me to use MAME. BTW: Qix77 is the name that I took from the game "Qix".

>>>4. What games were you're amiga shipped with?? can you remember, i wonder if they are the same as mine.

I must have had an odd package because I couldn't find that same package online... and I bought it back in either 1988 or 1989. It came with 'F/A 18 Inceptor', 'Last Crusade', some sort of racing game, and a game that didn't work. That was so long ago, I'm surprised I remember so much.

>>>5. How much did you're amiga cost when you first brought it? here ours was 400£ a lot of money here, especially at the time.

This is very interesting because I (by luck) found a rebate card at a friend's house and it was a (get this) $500 rebate for an Amiga 500 with one megabyte upgrade. At the time, with the upgrade, it was around $1,000 and I worked my ass off doing what every American kid could do... and that was being a little bitch... lol.... but it was true. I mowed lawns, cleaned windows, cleaned gutters, and worked with my dad doing some construction work on building houses. I must have been 11 or 12 years old at the time. Anyways, I paid about $500 and my dad did help me out. I should do a video of the full story someday.

The thing that turned me on to the Amiga (and C64) was the music and sound. During that time (exclude the C64) just about every computer was too involved in FM music. Since I play the guitar (and have since I was about five) I was introduced to music as such a great powerful level and at such an early age that the Amiga was much like a gift from God himself. I made so many songs (now lost) using MED on the Amiga.

To this day, no other system has came close to the marvel of the Amiga. I'm not superstitious (though I'm an American Celt) but I do believe that angels in heaven were singing at the birth of such an awesome system. I lived such a rich life with it than without it.

Long live the Amiga.. Always and Forever..

Thanks for the responce,

Thanks so much everyone. The response I've been getting from elite members from the Amiga community has been overwhelming. No one ever attempted to do video reviews of that system before other than 'longplays'.

The only downfall to it is that 88% of the time I'm online I'm responding to Amiga forums, reading e-mail from fan's of the system, and looking at porn.. lol.. kidding...

You're welcome. You did a fine job on them and I'm just giving credit where due.

You know - message forums and e-mail can be a lot of fun. Nothing like connecting with those who have similar interest. BUT the down side is that all that time spent communicating can greatly diminish one's time to create. I've had that problem myself. Either communicate with people OR work on a creative project. Doing both is often not an option, so I sometimes pick days where I'll basically just concentrate on creative stuff, and other days where I'll just have fun chatting with my internet friends.

It's a tough balancing act... one that I have yet to master.

Yeaaah...I don't write my own fully-completed stories as often as I used to, since I hit the 'net, I notice. I have, however, done lots of _collaborative_ fiction with other people--usually in a casual, on-the-fly manner, sure, but I like to think it still keeps the creativity flowin', in general. (Some of my best work was done that way, such as the Addventure threads...but with those, I had an idea where I was going and it wasn't really the back-and-forth it's supposed to be; it was me monopolizing the thread until I got to the point I wanted to get to, THEN leaving it open. :P)

Anyway. Qix!--I was always planning to ask if you got your name from that game, but I figured it went without saying, around here. I love that game, myself. Although, now that I've gotten a chance to play the original arcade version for myself (on an emulator...sorry) I realise how SPOILED I was earlier. Ya see, my first encounter with Qix was the Sega Genesis version, when we had the Sega Channel. My brother and I were both addicted to that game but my HELL it's easier compared to the original! The original is freakin' _evil_!

(The main difference is that you also have sparks going along _on the lines with you_ in the original, while in the later version you're perfectly safe as long as you're not drawing, and have PLENTY of time to wait until the various alien thingies get out of your way. You can stop and think. The original--well, it's an arcade game. They're _supposed_ to be cruel. There's only two types of players in an arcade...the fast and the DEAD.)

I finally managed to break the original high score, but man, that took some work... :P

On another note, huh, 1989 is the first (and only) time I got to use an Amiga, too. Technically the very very _end_ of 1989, crossing over with the very very beginning of 1990, but...

Anyway, congrats about the interview!

Qix, I have an A500 I can part with (1.3 firmware, ECS, 512kb expansion, RF generator). You'll have to wait until June though.

I'm not giving up my A1200 for the world though I hacked an internal modem into it, and it's fairly snippy to tote around. People think it's an old keyboard. Hook it up to a tv for instant retro goodness, and I can check my email on it, too.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Home much do you want for it? I would love to get my hands on a working Amiga 500.

I'm also looking for an Amiga 4000 with a Video Toaster. I found one on e-bay but I need to pay bills first.

Thanks..

That's cool!

I've got a comics mini-series that's starting in May that's being published in the USA. I recently did an interview for a comics website to promote the book. Suppose I'll come out in 4-5 weeks or so.

So I'm in the same boat order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
