Yesterday (Saturday 10th March) was my first Rez-day here at the Sector!

After seeing Tron (for the second time) in January last year, I got hooked, and scoured the web for more information. One of the best sites I found was this one, and after squeezing all the information I could from it, I eventually found a link to this weird little site called Tron-Sector. Turned out it wasn't quite as little as I first thought (but it was just as weird ), and after lurking for about a month, I decided to join (I'm always hesitant about joining forums from bad past experiences, so I tend to lurk around first to get used to the atmosphere and the rules). I lurked for so long that before I even joined I'd already seen loads of stuff from the Image Gallery and File Archives, and I knew of most of the regulars. I'd even watched Todd's videos, including CRF!

This site really is the friendliest community I've come across on the entire internet, and I've made a whole bunch of new friends, and forced... err... persuaded old friends to join up. And I'm not going any time soon, so onwards to my second Rez-day!

That is the one and only...WESTMINSTER!! font. One of my favourites, too. I love that one. D'ya know, even though we think of that as being the _'80s_ and possibly late '70s way of making things look "computery", that it actually dates back to at least the '60s? I'm serious! I was watching an Avengers episode the other day that had to do with a computer, and the printout was in...exactly this font!
(You guys would've liked that episode in general, by the way...they were totally treating/talking about the computer like it had a personality, etc...)

I used to have that font on my Windows 98 computer, but it didn't come with XP. Thankfully I remembered the name and managed to find it pretty easily. I don't remember _where_, but it's not a rare font once you know the name. You can probably find it pretty easily too.

Don't feel _too_ flattered by the picture by the way, NoExcuses...'cos that's actually my generic birthday picture that I've been using for everybody's forum birthdays for like...at least a couple years now. :P (as you'll find out the NEXT time we have a birthday/rez-day/whatever and I show exactly the same picture again. Heh.)

However, you ARE the first one to have the _upgraded_ version of it used on you. The original was literally just slopped out however in like five minutes...then the other day I went, "Wait, I've had this thing for years, certainly there's been enough time by _now_ to fix it up a little." So I didn't try to make it look "realistic" or anything--I like the cartoony style the way it is--but I did finally add _shading_, fix up the more ragged outlines, and change the "Happy Birthday" from the original free-hand scribble letters it was, to the "computery" font you see here. I chose that one specifically because hey, it was a TRON-sector rez-day!

...but I'm'a keep it that way for the _other_ forums I go to, from now on, too. I mean, hey. They know I'm into oldschool videogames and stuff. It's _me_.
