For some reason, URL tags don't work if they're upper-case.

So many great 80's videos!

Ahh - the good old days of MTV... back when it was actually cool!

Where to start... where to start...

*sigh* Nobody hooked me up! Okay, I'll post it. Pretty obscure, many probably don't remember. The very ending of the song might jolt some memory circuits...

Fred Schneider of the B-52's does an awesome Friday night 80's new wave show on Sirus (channel "1st Wave"). I think it's called "Party Out Of Bounds".

If any of you can catch it, I definitely recommend it. It's REALLY a great set week after week.

Oingo Boingo: Stay

This video strikes me as VERY 80's. For some reason Boingo also had this thing about midgets. Elfman can't lip synch to save his life either.

But the outfits are pretty funny. The hats and suspenders are all very 80's

The Cure: The Caterpillar

Man, I love that creepy greenhouse.

Oingo Boingo! ah those were the days... when I used to have hair like robert smith... or a mohawk. lol

I saw Boingo live three times. Once at a tiny club about 3 feet from Elfman. They so rocked. Heres a pic I took.

Dead mans's party was one of the first CDs I bought, when CDs were new! I still remember being blown away by how clear it all sounded, had to turn down the treble cuz the cymbals hurt my ears. lol

I wish they would do a reunion tour.

The Cure is supposed to have a new CD in May...

Ditto on the Fred Schneider show on Sirius 22 Friday nights, it's great! I'm usually running around, so I dont get to hear it all but it's almost worth staying in for.

Hey, don't apologise, I'm a total Duranie myself! I'm..._not_ so sure about showing "Girls on Film" around the younguns, though, considering they're _very_ young around here. Okay, so they probably see worse stuff every day on random commercials on normal TV, nowadays. But still.

How 'bout the Hungry Like the Wolf video? Indiana Jones ripo--er, tribute goodness! WHOO!

Actually, I gotta hand it to the boys...I've read about some of the stuff they went through while fliming those early videos, and anybody who thinks it really _is_ money for nothing would be wrong in this case. My heck they got beat up! (Or at least endangered a lot.) Back in the day when they didn't have realistic put-you-in-the-scene artificially CGI stuff, if you wanted an exotic location you had to really go there, and if you wanted a dangerous exotic animal in your video, you had to get a real one.

Bad things that happened to the Durans while fliming some of these videos include catching yellow fever, almost getting eaten by a shark, being kicked off the beach by the local authorities and having to _sneak_ back on and film the last few scenes with a camcorder borrowed from a random citizen, getting a toe nearly taken off by a large live crab and almost drowning.

Ya had to be TOUGH to make good videos back in the early days, dammit! :P

...Notorious

1. Never tell everything you know.
