Leon is probably pretty much a play on "leonhart"

And Aeris for being alive... I suppose it's pretty much the fact that Kingdom Hearts isn't really quite connected to Final Fantasy. They're just guests in the KH world, know what I mean?

(Besides, it's the only game where you get to see characters from other FF's to actually interact. You'd normally never see that happen with their own FF games.)

You know. first seeing that TRON would be in Kingdom Hearts II was the first thing that gon me into TRON!

Yeah, I figured it was off of "Leonheart", but does that mean he has no last name in the KH universe, or that he's now "Leon Leonheart", which sounds kinda goofy?

Is it just me, or, speaking of the Goof, did anyone else completely crack up every time they heard him say Tron's name? "Gawrsh, Trawwwwn, we'd like ta hay-elp!" :P Well, I guess people who were already used to it through actually playing the game might not. But I wasn't.

It's also my first time hearing the voice acting for these characters...Squall*...sounds EXACTLY how I figured, and I do _not_ mean that as a compliment. Ugh...the voice sounds like pure smarmy arrogant slacker needs-to-be-punched-in-the-face-ness captured in a bottle. Aeris and Tifa are about what I figured (and I guess I'm going to consider this an alternate universe or interstitial "what if", which makes the most sense)...
I never saw Cid as having a southern accent like that. It's too drawly. I always saw him as sounding gruff, curt, short.

*And he's STILL "Squall" as far as I'm concerned, dammit. You think I'm mean to him here...don't look at my MSTing of FF8...

I took notes as I watched the files--whatever random thought popped into my head--but I bet a lot of the "Why is _this_ thing happening?!" questions are probably pretty obvious if one played the entirety of both games and knew the plot.

Anyway. Very cool to finally see this! Squaresoffftt....(sends mental waves in their direction) You want to release these for PC...yes you do...more money...bigger market share...you will release them for PC soon...yes you will...look into my eyes...you are getting sleepy...so sleepy....you will also release Final Fantasies 9 and 10 for PC...yes you will...

Actually, Aeris is the one whom (for a while there) everybody thought was my videogame "look-alike". I no longer have that hairstyle, but I gave it to myself on a random whim while first playing FF7 (although I got the game way late, so this is more recent than you'd think) because I _knew_ it would look good with my features...and it turns out I was right.
Anyway, so I took a picture of myself with a hairstyle that was two pieces framing the face in front and a long ponytail in back, and used that every time somebody started a "What do you look like?" thread at a messageboard.

And the REACTIONS I got...! I wasn't wearing a costume or anything and the resemblance wasn't _that_ strong. But since I also have similar colouring to Miss Gainsborough, it was close enough...I had people whose username was "Sephiroth" jokingly pretending to "kill" me...this one kid who had a HUGE crush on Aeris wrote me hyperactively worded love-PMs ...my favourite reaction however was the guy who burst out "HOLY FLYING CETRA, BATMAN!"

(snicker)

Anyway. I just thought that was amusing. Does anybody else here have a videogame lookalike? Heh.
