Now you're talking... and thanks so much for watching...
Once I get the Amiga community tamed, (like two more videos) then I'm moving onto the Sega Genesis... then I'll take requests as long as I have the software that will handle the systems....
I'll keep you updated on this... |

It really is one great game. I think it's the best in the series and plays better on the Amiga 500. They made more Turrican games for almost every console from the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive on up to the Play Station (I think). I believe they had one for the N64 but I really don't know. I only played the Amiga ones.
It's my next review. I don't know if I'll do this one with humor... I might, it depends on what is going through my head while I do the review.
Great game.
OH... IMPORTANT: After this and another Amiga game review, I'll be moving on to the Sega Genesis. I think this will be more up your ally, everyone... |

For a while there, YouTube kept telling me the last two videos weren't processed yet . . . even though some people said they had already seen the videos. Very weird. But they finally worked for me today.
Ah . . . Wrath of the Demon. Yes, I shared your frustration once. I actually have this game, though not the Amiga version. It was ported to the PC. I felt exactly the same way you did about the first level. I played it for a bit, but then said "screw this" and it's been sitting somewhere in a closet collecting dust ever since.
Good job on the latest videos. Especially your improv dialogue. Hehe.

Thanks, bud... I get such a kick out of making these...
Yep.. Wrath of the Demon was a very frustrating game. It looked very nice but then it just started to suck.... I couldn't finish the review but I did have fun yelling in it.. lol...
I'm going to hit up games that most of everybody her should know. I told everyone at the Amiga forums that I'm only going to do two more then I'm taking a break to do other systems.
As soon as I can figure out how to capture video for the C64 then I'll mix some of that in there as well....
I can't get over how much I really enjoy doing this...

Qix did the amiga ever had a hard drive to come along with it by any chance? Reason why I was asking that. Some of the earlier computers like the AMiga, Atari ST 520 had an option for one I believe. I remember hearing about it up here when they were popular way back when. ANd I am coming to think about it. If it was possible to even put in a gig or two of a hard drive externally it would be great to see that on thos machines runing with the original equipment.
Ain't I a sneak to ask a complicate question like that.

Hi, Comp.. been a while..
Yep.. Amiga computers did have a hard drive option but I don't think the 500 did until the 90's... I can't remember...
But most of them where Floppy driven... They were known to have the fastest floppies around... for a while at least..

Man, even Duke Nukem worships the ground Bruce Campbell walks on. Is there an award for 'Best Use of The Boomstick Monologue'? 'Cause if there is, you should win it!

I'll be hitting PC games very very soon... I'm plaining to mix a few in while I'm doing other systems... I just hope the software I'm using works...
Thanks for the "Bruce Campbell" award.. lol. I'm such a fan and I just sooooooooooooo love that statement... but I had to edit it so it would work with the video... I spent about 30mins making it and adding the "Boom Stick" sample was like last min... and I love it... lol...

Sounds fine with me over here. Which reminds me of one other thing as well. I need to send you that one file for the Mame Cabinets that I was working on here. I did some revisions up here on it. I'll try and resend you the update of that. ANd see if it sunds right to you. Maybe I'll do a cut'n' paste it here with the linkages to specific places where certain things can be found for downloads of PDF'sand used things for making it. Gal darn it look what ya made me do. It is all good'n;fun though.
As for the hard drive for the amiga. I think it would be need to do something like that to revive he hard drive option for it. I might do something like that for it. If I can find the used amiga up over here at the recycling centers. Probably really dirt cheap to get them.

No problem. I still look over that DVD over here of your brother doing the capping of Mrs. Pac-man. I am surprised that I still earn someting from that as well over here. And I am a total newbie on restoration and Mame as well over here.

Wow, buddy... I haven't seen that in about a year or so... I should look for my copy and and check it out... I remember that I hated myself at the end because I was sooo tired and in a goofy mood.
I really need a video camera. With that I could send you so many crazy game related stuff (and many lame jokes) to see the real pathetic me in many more ways than just one.. lol...
My brother has a very high quality cam that is next to a studio broadcast cam as of now... he won't let me barrow it because he has became very very very tight... :P
If I ever get the chance to do real video, I might have to go to "No Excuses" and Todd for some filming tips..
I'll look for you on Yahoo soon... I don't know if my account is still active.... I'll have to check that...

Well most of todays camera are near broadcast quality that you can buy from the local stores like Best buy or future shop. It is just a matter of what kind of software that you are using to do the editing. I know betacams were still being used in the mid 90's for taping broadcasting shows. And running at leat 4-8K just for one camera. Last I had checked over here. Anyways I'll try and update it even more afterwards.

And now for some specific comments on your work I should've said much earlier...
Heh. I love how you draw yourself in different goofy ways to go with the "theme" of the game, and also pick appropriate music with each review...that's great. I also agree with the thing about getting thrown off the horse makes you "just want to get a bastard sword and go over to your neighbors' and hack like there's no tomorrow!" :P Well, I never played THAT actual game. But there were horse-riding bits in "Hillsfar" for the PC that were similar in terms of how often I tended to get thrown off.
"You find this dead woman in an alley and she's got a letter in her hand, so of course, instead of calling for the police, you just take the letter and read it." (snicker)
The art style in Turrican rather reminds me of Phantasy Star...hmm...
(The exo-suit is made in Grand Rapids, Michigan...ha! That's just great.)
Very fun stuff. If I had the slightest idea how to use technology that could mix sounds and video together (and was a better game-player) I'd totally review games the way you do--with appropriate music, silly "special effects" on the image of myself, sarcasm and random pop-culture references out the yin-yang. Yep.
Good jorb! (thumbs up)

Thanks Plusewoman... It's a learning experience and I've learned a lot. To mix music, sounds, recorded voice audio, etc isn't really hard as long as you have the right software and spend a lot of time just playing around with it.
It really is fun, but it takes a lot of time. I'm behind on finishing up my Amiga game reviews. Once I'm finished with Turrican 2 and another game, I'm moving on to the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. After I get a lot of my fav games out of the way then I'm heading back to the Amiga for a few more games.
I've got a lot of other systems in mind, and I want to at least have a few PC game reviews up by mid Spring.
Once I have enough diverse content, then I'll be able to just ramdomly switch from system to system for each review.
It's a little hard to break free from the Amiga community because I'm the only one that is doing reviews for Amiga games... but they are a bunch of cool guys.
Thanks for watching and for the really nice compliment. I hope to have the Turrican 2 review up before this weekend. |

I have several.. I could do it but I need a new video card because I sort of destroyed my TV IN function of my vid card (which will be replaced next time when I shop at S-Mart.. lol). But I think that would be a good idea... Let me give it a try. If so then I may be able to launch something along side of Turrican II. |
