I saw Casino Royale, the new James Bond film today. Has anyone else seen it? What did they think?
The retcon timescale confused me - it was Bond's first adventure set in 2006 (it's in Casino Royale that he's officially made a double-oh agent), whereas his second adventure (Dr. No) was set in 1962.
I thought this film seemed a bit more realistic - 'bulletproof Bond' wasn't gone, but he got hurt a lot more and seemed a bit more inexperienced than other Bonds (as of course he's still more-or-less a rookie in this film).
Anyway, I was just wondering who else had seen at, and people's opinion on the film and the new Bond, Daniel Craig.
(Oh, and I'm sure Todd will be disappointed to know that, as far as I can remember, there's only
one single James Bond pun in it
)
