Time - 21:00 - 22:35 (1 hour and 35 minutes long)
When - Sunday 1st October on Disney Cinemagic
Flynn is a computer genius who finds himself trapped inside a video game, where he's forced to play for the highest stakes - his own life - against mighty electronic warrior Tron. If he's to prove that his ideas have been stolen by the computer conglomerate he must win. Tron was a state-of-the art movie, ahead of its time with its computer graphics, and is still a stunning piece of future fantasy.
Director: Steven Lisberger
Starring: Jeff Bridges, Bruce Boxleitner, David Warner, Cindy Morgan, Barnard Hughes, Dan Shor
(1982, PG, 4 Star) |
Unfortunately this is one of the channels that hasn't yet joined the 21st century and so is not broadcasting in widescreen yet, so it'll most likely be a 4:3 crop (although they do use the remastered version). |

I don't have Sky...
EDIT: Wait...
Said the Disney:Flynn is a computer genius who finds himself trapped inside a video game, where he's forced to play for the highest stakes - his own life - against mighty electronic warrior Tron. |
He's fighting against Tron now?
So that means that Tron is evil, as well as Jet Bradley being Flynn's son, Tron being a user/a virus, and other facts found when people sum up Tron in a paragraph.

Figures.
Not even the damn marketing genie-asses at Disney, the very company that owns the rights to TRON, knows squat about the film.
Yeah - TRON is in goooooood hands, isn't it?
At least it got a 4-star rating...
Wait a minute...
That IS 4 stars out of 4 or 5 stars, right?
If it is 4 out of 10, then I must say
[censored]
Yeah, I'm sure it is 4 out of 4 or 5 stars.

No, no - let it out.
Don't hold it in, or you'll just explode... or turn really, really red and pass out.
Yeah, I'm sure it's a scale of 4 or 5. I've never heard of a 10-star rating... not that it doesn't exist somewhere. I've just never heard of it.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

LOL! Flynn vs. Tron. Good catch there...
Wish we had this channel, Sky. I just checked Sci-Fi.com and still don't see Tron mentioned in their schedule for the next couple months. I check Sci-Fi.com from time to time... just in case someone finally realizes how "sci fi" Tron really is and gives it proper respects by having it in their rotation at least once or twice a quarter, indefinitely order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

TRON get proper respect by a network?
That would be cool, but I'm not holding my breath.
Until then, we'll all give it proper respect on our own.
Hey...
Let's open up our OWN TV network!
Yeah!
We can show TRON ANY TIME WE WANT TO!
Now...
Just need to come up with a few million dollars to get it all started.
Ok, I'm in for $20.00.
Any other takers?

The server admin here (Auric) should just run Tron 24 hours a day, 7 days a week over the internet here. Loop it. Unfortunately, I don't think Disney would allow it (the whole "can't re-broadcast without express written consent" thing). So, let's just get their written consent first. LOL

It's not as if the company actually needs the film anyway, right?

Bwahahaha. Whoever wrote the description, obviously didn't see the film.
It was the same thing with the comic. Reading most of the reviews out there of the first issue, you could tell these people weren't really fans. They made the most elementary mistakes. One of which NoExcuses pointed out. (Jet Bradley is Kevin Flynn's son? Hmm, I dunno . . . wasn't there some guy named Alan Bradley in the film too? )

Disney allowed their trademark on the name Tron to expire, and then Cooper Industries trademarked it for their line of power tools. So Disney had to get permission to use the name again. Nice, huh? Just goes to show how much Disney cared about Tron for at least 20 years.
Yes, the mighty Tron was reduced to a power tool.
EDIT: Okay, I lied. Turns out Cooper has a line of fuses named Tron, not power tools. But you get the idea.
