I found this old Logitech Black And White hand scanner amid all my junk and was about to pitch it when I remembered some people on here like to collect stuff like this.
It's about 10 or so years old. You'd have to roll the scanner across the image. I don't have the software or the video card needed to run it, but I think you can get them off of eBay.
Anyway, it's free to anyone who wants it. You have to cover shipping. If no one wants it, it goes to the circular file.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

I had one of those! Those were the days.
I remember when I got my first single-pass flatbed color scanner. It was huge and noisy, but it worked! Color scans!
Now color scanners are a dime a dozen, and very affordable. Gotta love it.

Oh my
I really hated the hand-held scanners. They were so useless tiny for really large pictures I had so I'd only be able to scan playing cards and that would bug me. (My dad had one owned by the school and he tends to bring his school computers home so they wouldn't be stolen at school.)
However, I had a huge scanner from 1995ish... and it was a Hewelett/Packard. Ran pretty well. Died few years ago. My current scanner's a Epson and still runs fairly well. ; It's half the size of my hewelett packard scanner. o_o Kia: Cool. I'm a infamous mythological perfect User.
