That's cool. I would like to see some original shows on TV again. I have been meaning to buy them on DVD but they're SO expensive.

I'm not so sure I want to see digitally enhanced episodes.

Perhaps they can add some children in to save the world too! That's really mess 'em up!

I dunno what to think about this. If the updates are low-key and done in a subtle way, rather than in your face, then maybe it's okay. But it doesn't sound like that's what they're going for.

But the fact that they've decided to air the episodes out of order, just so they can showcase an episode with a really good example of these added effects . . . that ticks me off. Why have the story flow in a logical order and make any sense? That's not important!

I liked the additional subtle effects and cleanups they did for the Director's Cut DVD for Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

There was V'Ger's ship, the walkway that came together outside the Enterprise, and a shot of the Enterprise with a plasma ball disappearing in front of it. When digital additions are done tastefully and non-invasively, they can add a lot to the movie. When they're done wrong (*cough* special edition Star Wars *cough*) they can ruin the film.

So, we'll see.

I thought the pilot episode (with Captain Pike) "The Cage" actually had really good effects for the time. It was pretty slick.

But unfortunately, once the show went into full production, the effects took a bit of a nosedive. Obviously because of costs, no doubt.

This is something I've been hearing about for a few years now, and I'm all for it.

I really look forward to seeing TOS with updated special effects because now events such as starship battles can be presented in a far more dynamic and exciting way than they were originally. This can only serve to enhance the appeal of TOS, which means that young sci-fi fans who eschewed TOS simply because of the dated, low-budget effects (which, by the way, I always liked anyway) might give it a second look.

Well if anyone saw the final episode of "Enterprise" there was one shot where they showed the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (No Bloody A, B, C, or D!) and it looked old, but new at the same time. It was a beautiful shot, and I can't wait to see what they can do with TOSwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

As long as they don't go GLC (George Lucas Crazy ) on the episodes I think the changes will do nothing but enhance the originals. I couldn't agree more with MM regarding what he said above. There are so few people, especially young people, who can sit down and watch an episode from the old series. In my eyes this may help a bit so I'm all for it. Even though I didn't like Enterprise one bit, I hate the fact that the property has dropped in popularity so much over the last few years.

I was a bit sad to only see 20 Klingons or so at Dragon*Con this past weekend. Five years ago there would have been a lot more. I did however manage to catch the Mrs. Klingon beauty pageant though . It *rawked*!

The only thing that I really didn't like about the enhanced episodes was Greedo shooting first. I think George wanted to portray Han as more of a "diamond in the rough" good guy and less of a tough, no-nonsense scoundrel.

But I agree with you Tim; the effects are great as long as they only make things look better and don't change the stories in any way.

They're spoiled by today's special effects and can't see past old special effects to get to the story. Their loss.

See, now I never understood why Paramount didn't stick with ST:E. In fact, Paramount killed ST:E just as they got good writers and the show began to give the viewers the kinds of stories they'd been wanting to see.

At least Paramount kept ST:V alive long enough for it to kind of find itself and become a decent show. ST:V was inconsistent, and it was obvious that the producers just didn't know what kind of show they wanted ST:V to be most of the time, but they did have a lot of good episodes and I always looked forward to watching it.

I very much did not care for Luke screaming like a little girl when he fell in the Empire Strikes Back. They did take that out for the DVD's, but replaced it with the Hayden Christensen thing at the end.

Features would be:

1) Headbutts from the waitresses when caught looking at their boobs.

2) Gagh and Bregit Lung instead of wings.

3) Fights to the DEATH over the check.

4) 14 Drink minimum.

5) Slogan: Today is a good day to..... eat at Hooters!

Only trouble is that all the ST hating P'tahks out there wouldn't get it.

As for updated effects on TOS, as long as its done in moderation, I look forward to it on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online
