OK, this is the official thread for my I AM A TRON FAN video concept.

I want to keep this simple, and I want it clear from step one that this is my project.

I need input from the group, but I am not allowing the group to direct it. I have a clear vision of what I want to do and I don't want to dilute it.

The recent video by TRON Guy and friends for NetNeutrality was a brave, but ill fated step in my book. you lose the message in the silliness of the video.

I have long wanted to create some video clips featuring people whom you might not think were TRON fans speaking about the film.

When I sam the image that Hikaru had placed on the front of the Disney buildings in Burbank today the thought clicked that this must remain simple. The image was simple, an icon of a video game character. No dancing, no bad singing, just everyday people saying I AM A TRON FAN.

So what I want you to do is create a video clip of you to send to me. I have a couple of ways you can do it.

1. A video of you in your every day life turning to look into the camera and saying the words I AM A TRON FAN. If you have some TRON item (Toys, Poster, drinking from a TRON mug, etc.) in the video with you, all the better. At the end, feel free to add any statements you wish to make about Disney making a sequel to our favorite film, but the key is to get you in your natural environment saying the key words: I AM A TRON FAN.

2. The special effects version. Film yourself against a neutral background, all black, all green or all blue. Wearing items that won't blend into the background please! We can then take you out of your video and put you onto a TRONish background. Again, if you can work in some TRONish elements, that would be good too. Be creative, but keep it simple and against a solid background we can remove easily. We might end up coming back to those of you who go this route for some reshoots if what you do is good.

3. Man On The Street - Take a video camera out into the public and ask people on the street to tell you if they are a TRON fan, get them to say the words - I AM A TRON FAN. I have to find out if we can use this kind of fooage, but if we can, it would be great to have.

I will provide a mailing address soon for all of this and let's see what we get.

Once I can see the responses and the quality of the clips, I will work with some of our in house geniuses to creat ethe final clips.

Let's see if we can't get that viral video concept working for us and ge the sequel we want.

If you have ideas for variations you want to do, please discuss them here with me. Let's not get into competing projects and muddying the water.

I want this to be one unified series of videos. It will hurt us to have people splintering off and doing their own thing in the same vein. Since it's my idea, I want to maintain control over it, I hope you will understand and respect that.

I'm not a big fan of filming myself either but I'll see what I can come up with. Maybe I'll film my boys (who are much more photo friendly then me) as they are both TRON fans. May I ask is there a thread about this image Hikaru.EXE placed in front of Disney? I'm curious... Also Dave did you see this image on-line or in person? I didn't think you worked for Disney any more.

I'll be posting photos tonight. Up until this morning it's been a private convo between me and hikaru, but later you will see the results. It's cool. Can you possibly post something about this over in the Boxhat forums or on your site?

The image I made was a space Invader I made in paint printed, cut, the put to tape over to make a stcker. Then In the middle of heavy traffic on River side, I jumped out of the car and stuck it on Disney on a secluded concrete wall where none of the staff would care about it.

Well, why I did it is a whole other story. If you want to find out, click the space invaders link in my sig. This guy is awesome. He travels round the world putting space invader mosaics on meaningless walls. It's cool! I had to try it for my self and walla the birth of an invader.

I never thought it would inspire a campaign though. THIS IS SWEET!

What about using a webcam in just a basic mde tht you coul see and hear the person talking about it and mentioning like you said with something that they have that is tron and having that done. I know I don't have a regular camera to videotape myself but I do have a web cam over here. So that might do right Davetron?
