Maine Lobsterman Pulls Up Rare Lobster
AP Photo/ABIGAIL CURTIS
BAR HARBOR, Maine (AP) -- An eastern Maine lobsterman caught a lobster this week that looks like it's half-cooked.
The lobster caught by Alan Robinson in Dyer's Bay that is a typical mottled green on one side; the other side is a shade of orange that looks cooked.
Robinson, of Steuben, donated the lobster to the Mount Desert Oceanarium. Staff members say the odds or finding a half-and-half lobster are 1 in 50 million to 100 million. By comparison, the odds of finding a blue lobster are about 1 in a million.
Robinson, who has been fishing for more than 20 years, said he didn't know what to think when he spotted the odd creature in his trap.
"I thought somebody was playing a joke on me," Robinson said. "Once I saw what it was ... it was worth seeing."
Bette Spurling, who works at the oceanarium, said lobster shells are usually a blend of the three primary colors: red, yellow and blue. Those colors mix to form the greenish-brown color of most lobsters. This lobster, though, has no blue in half of its shell, she said.
Bernard Arseneau, a former manager at the oceanarium's lobster hatchery, said lobsters also have a growth pattern in which the two sides develop independently of each other.
The oceanarium has received only three two-toned lobsters in its 35 years of existence, staff members said.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

Now that is cool...
But I might add... the odds coudn't be 1 in 50million. Well, not in the way you think. Using known medical knowledge, I would say the lobster's brain is deformed. If lobsters have three pigments, then you could say it was "one-sixth albino". The fact is, that because it's brain was deformed, The lobster lacked blue pigment in its left side. They could have run tests to see if this is true. The fact that the odds are so slim, is the fact that it was found as an adult.
I wonder what I would do if I that lobster was on my plate at Bennihana's... Yumorder abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Before reading the article, and only looking at the image, my first thought was this was going to be an scientific exhibition in the lobster's remarkable regenerative abilites and they cut two separate like-sized lobsters in two then bonded them together and they grew into one.
I liked my imagined idea better.

After reading that, I can imagine an article coming a month later stating:
"Genetically mutated lobster rampages through city streets. Scientist attempt to create a genetically mutated crab to counter attack lobster."
Hehe , It would be like having our own Godzilla and Rodan.

The lobsterman who caught it apparently donated it to an aquarium, so no worries there.

I saw that picture - and my immediate reaction was along the lines of, 'wow, that Photoshopped lobster looks really real! Sketch is amazing at image doctoring!'
Then I read the article, and was both disappointed and amazed to find that it was real.
Or is it...?
