As did I. How I saw it is Spacey was doing Hackman's Luthor after Hackman's Luthor spent 5 years in prison. I would imagine 5 years in the big house being Tiny's cellmate could change Luthor's attitude a little.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

lol yes I am well known for that, sorry I just thought it should have been mentioned thats all. Not trying to offend anyone or anything just wanted to add my thoughts on that. But back to the actual movie, I thought it was fantastic the actors were great couldnt have picked a better cast. It takes a lil getting used too if your used to watching the originals. But even though the actors are different the chracters are the same which is the main thing

Well thank you.

I tried to come up with the least combative argument possible, but one that would still get my point across as clear as day, and that was it.

I'll agree with you that they have now stripped the new movies of an essential part of the Superman character. However, if you'll notice there are two pictures up there with Christopher Reeve's Superman. In the first set of movies he's portrayed as he truly is: a patriotic American superhero who defends and protects the world.

Oh, I've got one more picture, just for fun:

I agree that superman was an all american hero. But lately in comics superheros have begun to be world heros, but its also true that they shouldn't strip them from there roots. But lately like I said before (I think) movies which are pro America are flopping in world wide viewings. I think people are just getting sick of how everything happenes in USA New York. Because I know Superman is all for American Ideals, I am English and I think that the true Ideals of america are a good thing.

But I think Superman would try and spread those ideals throughout the world and not just enforce it in America. Which I think this new movie tried to get across with not strapping him down to the USA exclusive club.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Oh, and the world is jealous the US citizens thought them up too, so just let em die... Someone needs a new director anyway... Haven't seen the movie, I may soon, but, if superman were really american, why did he ignore FAA law? and why did he misuse america by saving the rest of the world, who hates us? not to mention, any other countries law. Why did he not get a passport, just 'cause he's a journalist and superman?? Noone respects a hero who thinks he owns the world, so maybe he thinks he's too good for anyone anyway, he should just start making super law, and coop with Codex, and farm humans to plant on mars, and beyond, romantically of course. whew, sorry 'bout that.

If they're sick of everything happening in the USA, then why don't they make up their own superheroes and make movies about their superheroes themselves in which stuff happens in their own back yards, rather than bitching about how movies made in the USA take place in the USA? If they can't or won't, then tough. It's not the USA's problem if a bitchy, whiney world isn't happy about the movies we make.

MM,

We all get your point.

I don't even disagree with it. He is essentially an American (Adopted) who defends the world. You said so yourself.

I think other countries have their own heroes, but Superman is bigger than just being American. Too bad most Americans don't understand that, or the world might be a better place right now.

To me it's not the fact that he's American that makes him Superman, it's the fact he IS Superman that makes him Superman. There's no other way to put it into words for the the man of steel has achived a universial appeal that few characters have ever achived. Just saying his name has impact. To me the flying flages and purched eagles are nice notoglia and a salute to the country, which many other superheros do, but for me the true man of steel is this...

One that is in action doing what he does, being Superman, saving those who need help, fighting crime, being a champion and protector. Being super.

I'm not saying the fact he's from American isn't important at all, for it is, it's just secondary when thinking about Superman. At least for me anyway.

S is the symbol on his chest, red, blue, and yellow is the costume which he wears. Green is the rock that can hurt him.

Its not that were sick of us superheros no its things like when hollywood take books that happen in the uk (like War of the worlds) butcher the story so it looks nothing like the original book and set it in america. Thats what countries outside of the US are getting sick of.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Well, to be fair, Hollywood butchers things indiscriminately, and not depending on nationality.

Also, "Hollywood" is more global these days than it ever has been with people from all over the world getting involved in films. You'd be surprised who the butchers are these days

I think the whole spectrum of opinions about this film have been covered - the great parts, the not so great parts, the visual effects, in-depth discussions about everything from the actors' performances to the subtle changes from tradition in the film... and not so subtle changes from tradition in the film.

Everyone has made excellent points and all opinions are valid.

I'm going to close this thread now though.

Although it has stayed relatively friendly with the differences in opinion, I think they've all been stated now. All major points have been hit, restated, and reinforced again.

We know where everyone stands on things. Let us all respect that and move on now.

If Superman were real, he would rather us celebrate our similarities than dwell on our differences.

And I'm sure Superman will return to the silver screen again soon.
