Hi!
Another update....
I have to add some detail on the main body and to rework
the rear-section of the treads a bit.
More tomorrow

You really are an amazing modeller. It would be great to see your work in a short movie - if Disney won't keep TRON going then someone has to, right?
Seriously though, this work is staggeringly true to the movie and absolutely brilliant - amazing work. I can't wait until you post more renders, man!abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Hi!
Thank you all for the comments.
I think i can call it finished now, maybe just a few
minor tweaks are left which i found after capturing
more frames from the dvd.
Rebuild the rear-section of the treads (again)
Maybe i will add a "real" CLU-version with the missing turret-part and different line shading,
and a version with different colors (the "mcp"-tanks).
But this will pretty easy to do.
There are already some other models waiting

Nice...
Now I have to go and re-build my Tank.
I'll get to work on that first thing next week. I'll be out of town and probably off the internet until then.
Dirk will probably have the rest of the TRON universe modeled by then so I'm eager to see what will be awaiting me when I return.

Hi Carl!
One week off the internet?`*shudder*
If you re-model your tank, keep an eye on the glowing part between the treads an the body.
Its round on the side were it touches the treads.
I can provide some pictures if you like.
Yeah, i got some models i wanne do, including the Tron 2.0 IC-Regular.
Im not that good in human-modelling, so ill try with something more simple.
I got all all four Tron 2.0 figures and took the IC Regular
out of the package to take photos from all sides.
If everything went good ill try a simplified Flynn or Tron-mesh.
Then i just started another model.... youll see when youre back
take care,
Dirk

When I said 'I can't wait until you post more renders', I meant it. I saw that you'd posted in this thread and I thought 'ooh, new tank renders!'
I tried to remake the creation of Tron as it is at the start of the movie, with the formation from polygons. I changed his circuitry pattern a bit and it's a very lo-poly model, but then I spent about half an hour sat in a pitch black room with my camera facing my monitor taking long exposure shots for that glow effect I so desire
I can't wait to see your attempts at Flynn or Tron - if your models so far are anything to go by these should be damn cool!where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Hey - the tank model is looking great, Cueball!
Once again - you really nailed that TRON film look in the way you rendered it.
I can't remember where, but I remember the indentation on the side of the tread being pointed out in another thread. It looked more like a modeling error or glitch to me. I don't personally care for that part, but if it is indeed closer to the original tank models in the film, then you would know as I'm sure you've been studying it very closely.
Well, you keep those models coming - you're doing an excellent job! AND I'd still like to see some animations eventually.

Hi!
Thank you all for your comments!
I found another glitch in the rear section.
Ive grabbed some more frames for some other
references and found some more details
I hope i can redo the section soon.

Hi!
Here are the treads the way i did them.
There are still some size mismatches, which i will fix,
but the overall shape should be ok.

Ok... Here is what I was making yesterday.
This is the part I believe you are talking about. I've added back in the detail MAGI had in their model seen here:
http://www.tron-sector.com/gallery/default.aspx?do=gallery§ion=1&category=4&group=Tanks
If you simply drop the rotating part I believe you'll have the shape seen in the film. Does this have the rounding you mention above?

I've got some questions about this shape but I think I need to do more work on this part myself before I can ask the question in a way that will make sense. The question itself has some math in it so I'll try to make some pictures to visually explain what I'm asking as well.
The short version, which won't make much sense at the moment, is it appears to me that you've made a plane go through 4 arbitrary points. 3 arbitrary points define a plane so you've done something rather tricky to get that 4th point on the plane. Either that or one of your planes really isn't a plane at all.
If I've lost you give me some time to make some pictures and I'll show you exactly what I'm talking about.

Just to be a bit more specific here is the plane I'm talking about.
As best I can tell the red line on the right lies in an x=constant plane. The red line on the left lies in a different x=constant plane. If that is correct then the only way both of these lines could be contained in one plane is if these two lines are parallel which they obviously aren't. So either one of my assumtions is wrong or this isn't a plane.
