*Cough! Choke! Cough!* I'm sorry, but this movie looks terrible on so many levels. First is the plot. When reading the first part of the plot where the FBI need to protect a witness is okay... I mean it's not something entirly different. Then toss in the bad guy releasing hundreds of "deadly snakes" on a plane to kill the witness?! Why does this sound like the worst James Bond plot? I think there are more effective means of killing off a witness than just crossing your fingers and hoping a snake bites her! I can just hear the bad guy right now:

Bad guy: Mwa ha ha ha! Behold! My most fiendish plot yet! I shall release a bunch of deadly snakes on this plane carrying this important witness and they will bite her and kill her! Oh! I am such an evil genious! This call for a fiendishly evil laugh! MWA HA HA HA! *Twitches*
Yeah. Great movie alright. So great... it just makes my brain die a little more! The next thing that kinda bugs me is the accuracy of this movie. Deadly snakes don't go looking for people just so they can bite them like the movie portrays. Snakes usually bite if they are scared, provoked, or hunting for prey and I don't think humans are on the menu. So from the get-go, the idea of releasing snakes on this plane is already very flakey. So now all we need for this plot to be complete is the 1960s Batman and Robin duo, those cheese sound effects and potentially The Joker because the snakes seem more like his thing anyways... or possibly one of the other Batman villians. Yeah. You could argue that movies don't have to be realistic to be good. They can be sci-fi and excetra. But you can also say that movies need to be believeable and because of the lack of acuracy and snake research, this movie doesn't seem all that believable. So there's a huge falkyeness factor that I just don't like.

The third thing is based on what was seen in the trailer: The animation quality and the snake prop quality. This could be because they still might be touching it up a little. But let's take it at face value and say they stopped touching up the animation and things. The texturing and lighting on the animated snakes is terrible! I mean take a look at the snake comming from the woman's shirt. It just looks like the animators stopped caring. The lighting and texturing is completely wrong! Also, the rubber props don't seem to move very well either. The one Samuel was holding in one of the clips seems extremely stiff. It looks like something I'd pick up from Wal-Mart for 4.50$ CAN. They could have substituted an animation there but yet again, they got lazy and didn't. They could have done so much better and didn't. To me (Who tends to pay attention to those things) it screams lazy and lazy animators are a wee bit of a pet peeve of mine. If you have to absolutely be a little lazy, at least find a way to cover up your lazyness and turn out a good animation please! Even if there were time constraints, the snake animations could at least be cleaned up better than that.

So overall, this movie doesn't look worthwhile due to cheesey plot problems, inacuracies, and poor attention to detail and quality in animation and the snake props.

You know, this film can be GREAT, if marketed correctly.

Seriously think about the opertunity they have right now to give movie goers a fun experience. Just the name of the film has spread like wildfire all over the net. Wouldn't it be awsome to have free promotional material like rubber snakes and airline barf bags with blood capsules given out to everyone seeing the flick. Just think of the fun people would have packed a theater tossing rubber snakes and fake bleeding while everyone laughs at the movie. People are already not taking this movie seriously, so they need to utilize that aspect. It would be a brilliant move.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

That is a very interesting point you bring up, Sketch.

l really don't think this film will be "great" by any means. It looks horribly cheesy and over-done - and I don't mean in a comedic way - it looks like they went for the whole big action film / survival theme thing.

But you're right. Given that this film is more than likely not meant to be realistic by any means - just something fun with some scary moments in it. In that respect, the film can be fun (if viewed in that light). And the promotional opportunities you mentioned could indeed be a lot of fun. But I bet they don't do any of that... at least not beyond the Hollywood premiere of the film.

I'm still saddened by Hollywood's lack of doing anything truly great anymore. It's all just the same old, rehashed stuff... again. They just mix it up a bit for each new generation, and throw in today's flashy special FX, a "big name actor", and series of witty one-liners - wrap it all up with some flashy advertising and... well, I'm bored. Hollywood seems completely overtaken by the suits and the only objective is the bottom line $$. Sad. They could make a bundle with some new material too... they just don't want to take the chance. I know that would-be filmmakers are trying, but the powers that be in the various studios turn down good, solid, innovation and creativity in favor of the tried and true FORMULA every time. The "formula" is generally an easy and predictable profit. Blah.

And...just to say it...I'm pretty sure this was released to be a joke. If you listen to interviews (I can't remember where the one I listened to where Samuel L. Jackson was talking about it in...otherwize I'd link it) it's treated like a joke. The only reason he did the movie was because he's wanted to do a crummy scare film like this for a while now.

It's either going to be so bad that it's funny and entertaining or it'll just be boring.

I'm hoping that it's the first one, because that's what I've been waiting for it to be.

(Ok...I'm done now....)

Folks, I think we're all missing the big picture here.

First, this movie is about SNAKES.

Second, they are on A PLANE.

Now, think about the philosophical and natural ramifications that come of this!

WHY are they on the plane?

Don't snakes prefer it on the ground?

WHO put them on the plane?

Are the snakes angry? Scared? Thrilled?

Snakes? On a plane? That = HIGH DRAMA to me, folks!

And let's not forget the third point - it has Sam "The Man" Jackson fighting SNAKES ON A PLANE!!!!

Why in the hell would you NOT want to see that?!

He actually has a line where he says, while sliding a clip into a 9mm pistol, "I'm tired of these snakes on this plane!"

I WILL BE FIRST IN LINE TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!

Movies like this and Slither remind me of how you can just go and have fun at the movies like when I'd go see all the cheesy sci-fi and horror films of the 80s in the theater or watch them at friends' houses on HBO/Skinemax!

My friends and I are so psyched for this that we've incorporated the title into daily conversation.

"Man, today sucked at work."

"Why?"

"I was so busy and people were total idiots to deal with."

"Well, snakes on a plane."

"You're right. I'll stop complaining now."

And Todd, how can you be upset with a new Superman film? Did you expect Warner Bros. and DC to NEVER touch the material again, especially in the heyday of comic book movies right now? Look at Batman Begins! That film frickin' OWNED the original films, even the Burton ones, which I still love.

Bryan Singer (who has done no wrong yet, since he first directed The Usual Suspects) has kept this film in the same Superman universe that Richard Donner created for the films. Cripes! Brandon Routh looks and sounds exactly like Christopher Reeve! Kevin Spacey looks fan-frickin'-tastic as Lex Luthor - cold, menacing and even a little over-the-top. No goofy wigs and no Otis = better already.

Superman Returns will even use John Williams' incredible Superman themes, so I'm pretty much sold already!

I'm always so surprised at how people just judge films and condemn them before actually seeing them.

V for Vendetta is another good example. Right now, it's the best film I've seen this year. A thinking man's action film, heavier on thinking than action (there are like three action scenes I can think of in the entire film - which is near 2 and a half hours).

Here's my review I wrote for my weekly radio movie review show.

“V for Vendetta” offers timely, though-provoking cinematic experienceby Kevin M. Pauley
mcsaulteen@hotmail.com

“People should not be afraid of their government. The government should be afraid of its people” - V

These two sentences are what will stick in your mind upon seeing the trailers for, and leaving the theater after viewing, the jawdropping and spectacular “V for Vendetta”, the latest offering from the Wachowski Brothers (creators of The Matrix and its, in my opinion, unfortunate sequels) and newcomer director James McTeague.

But what is V really saying?

There are many people who will see this film and think immediately about the Bush presidency -whether they are for or against the man. They will say this film bashes him and will be totally for it or totally against it.

And both sides will be totally wrong.

“V for Vendetta” is faithfully based on Alan Moore’s groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name, written in the mid-80s - over a decade before Bush’s presidency. But it’s tale is not one of blaming the administration.

What’s startling is who V declares the ultimate villain - “Look in the mirror,” he says to a captivated crowd after he pirates a broadcast signal from the government.

And that’s where the morality of the piece comes through - it’s not the government’s fault; rather, it is ours.

The film takes place in 2020, after a terrible virus has killed many and a civil war has killed more. Britain is

Well, today, me, my brother and a bunch of his friends got the bus up to Scunthorpe, went to the cinema (we were the first ones there at 10:30am, the film started at 11am GMT), me in my Snakes on a Plane shirt, and my brother with his wooden Snake thingy, and we watched Snakes on a Plane.

What can I say?

It was the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life! *

I knew that it would either be really good or really bad. If it was just OK, that would be the worst case scenario. But, it turned out to be both an amazing movie and an hilariously bad one too.

It was great! Just go see it now! It is so amazingly brilliant and amazingly cheesy and crap at the same time!

*I can't say whether it's better or worse than TRON because you can't compare the two.

I won't reveal anything, but I will tell you that there are Snakes on a mothaf**kin' plane, and Samuel L Jackson don't like that.

It was a lot better than I was expecting. Somehow, they managed to fit a cohesive storyline around the issue of why Snakes got on the plane.

If you've been looking forward to it as much as me, you'll love it.

Me too! I'm definitely going to see the movie in the next few days.

Did you guys know that you can have Samuel Jackson call someone for you with a personalized message? Seriously, check this link out! You can even preview the message before it makes the call. I sent it to at least a half dozen people that I know and they enjoyed it .

I was going to post about that a couple of weeks ago, but I forgot...

In the UK, I could only email it around. And half the people didn't get it. But one of my brother's friends was scared because he was stroking his beard at the same time as Sam Jackson told him to 'stop playing with that hairy scary beard'!

And while listening to the preview for one I was going to send to my brother, I laughed harder than I've ever laughed while staring at a computer screen. where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

That is a cool idea (the 'send a message to your friend'), but if any of my friends/family gives my phone#/email address to that site, I will not be happy. To me, I see it as a sneaky way to get peoples' information so they can be marketed to; or so their info can be sold. Maybe theywon't, but still. I don't want to just hand out my friends' info. I liken it to TrendWest. If you go to one of their 'presentations', at the very end they want you to give the names, phone#'s/addresses of 3 or 5 friends/relatives. Many people give that info without even thinking twice. I see it as an immoral way to collect marketing info.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online
