Um...
Ok, I'll give Disney points for choosing a cool song from when I was a kid. That song rocked, and in fact, we often break in to that song at work from time to time. Usually when we're telling someone to free up network space by zipping it, zip it good! You get the idea.
Anyway, the kid-pop video is awful. Oh man... I'm a little disturbed having watching it... AND making it all the way through. That was all just so wrong. VERY wrong. The song is not kid-pop music - it's a classic! And trying to make those kids look cool doing this song in the video did just the opposite.
Ewwwww.
So, points for a cool song, but MONDO negative points for making it kid-pop CRAPPY!

If I see one more "artist" like Joss Stone who has deep thoughs and channels someone when she sings who she probably doesn't really know much about I will puke!
How about they all grow up a bit before they start acting like they know something!

Sadly, I was drawn to look at it again, and I noticed several things that are going to force me to put this travesty into the TRON Archives I keep for Steven under Cultural Impact.
First, the lettering on the shirts of the girls in the video is very reminiscent of the TRON 2.0 font, right down to the 2.0 on their shirts.
Second, The animations on the screens behind them just scream TRON.
Lastly, I will point out that if Disney does what I think they will eventually do to TRON, these little geeks will probably provide the soundtrack.

I didn't get it, was that a course on abortion? the boy girl thing, and a mixer, I just dont get it. That disney dream, just came true....
But I just cant believe what I saw, Tron stuff like a bowl of fruit loops with a mixer and whip topping... I'm not to the puke point.. lol
I have ranted about this music before, but it got deleted, cuz I was a little um... jaded?
hahaha.... I hope those kids are really that talented, cuz they've got much better opportunities, minus the cartoons.

Actually, to be honest I think you are all over-reacting. Disney, as a rule, does toned down kid oriented things these days to appeal to parents and kids alike. This was only a harmless kid-oriented thing that was aimed at six-year-olds.
Yes, for us that grew up on Devo and the new-wave scene, this is stupid and sophomoric.... but if your six-year-old kid were watching this on a kiddie channel would you be all THAT upset?
It's just stupid kids stuff... no biggie. Doesn't demean Devo at all... just trying to give the kids of this generation something to look at that doesn’t involve sex, drugs, rap, criminals, blood, etc......

I just don't get the whole "kid-pop" thing. Do kids really like these songs sung by kids who can't sing?
Even more puzzling, who are the parents buying this stuff? I know if I had to listen to this kid-pop crap while driving, within five minutes I'd be actively searching for the nearest steel-reinforced overpass column to slam my truck into in order to permanently relieve the feeling of my brains oozing out of my ears.
