Well, the left over fragments of Katrina hit home. Mom called me at my apartment today, and the 100 year old tree next to the house was ripped plumb out of the ground, roots and all, which has left a deep hole in the ground. The barn has some bent metal roofing now, and alot of the cotton fields are flattned. Our renter might not get a good crop yield this year. I wonder what other wind damage was done in town back home.

I'm gonna keep quiet about my feelings about this... I'll just say that they're not for the government. I'll leave it at that.

I feel terrible for the victims...

I wish I could help.

Please don't let this thread start turning into a political debate. This disater has affected eveyone in some shape or form. People are doing eveything they can to help out. I know groups are already protesting about what needs to be done, but they don't realize that relief takes time for a disaster this scale. Relief is already out there, and is still getting to areas that need it as best and as quickly as it possibly can.

Aw shucks, that ruined decadence day, they should have gotten the whips and chains out a few days earlier... I feel bad, for them also. Orlando had four hurricanes in a row, two of them were serious. I had to keep an office with atleast 60 computers running, and cooled. fun fun. (for 3 weeks).

My main hope is that medicine and vaccines will get to the people ASAP.

With all of the bodies and sewage, one can only imagine the disease that will set in for the inhabitants of the area.

I also hope that the looting and craziness will come to an end so honest people can get the help they so desperately need.

My thoughts and prayers are with all who have suffered from this terrible disaster.

i sometimes wonder how people can give such a horiffic thing like this such an innocent name-the same goes for all the hurricanes. they're evil things, they really are.

i just hope all the stricken peoples are ok.

but, having said that, we've been getting news on people looting shops in new orleans. and what's left of the city is on the verge of a riot. now i know people are desperate to replace things they lost, but this is crazy.

anyway. i've said my part., done my part [put £5 into a collection box. it's not much but it's all i can give.]where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Wow, Prankster. That's very cool! Every little bit counts.

Yeah, it is a very sad situation. I can't believe how big it was -- as large as the UK! That's just nuts. This is Earth, not Jupiter!!! I just can't fathom.

We get 70mph winds here sometimes. I think it might've gotten into the 90 mph range once that I can remember. 70mph is bad enough, what would it be like to experience wind speeds DOUBLE that?? I just can't believe it.

we had 130 mph winds here, (plus tornadic activity) and it's sorta like seeing a nuclear wind without the fire, and it's unnerving when you have no electricity, or nothing at all. nothing is left on trees, many concrete power poles are dropped, everything from 300 to 4 feet has been destroyed, or moved.

I can't believe the terror level of being in that place at night, with criminals on the rampage. I wonder if there's video of any of this. I know someone's gonna make a movie out of this.. it's a sad thing to know this happened.
That is a huge problem, The USA has been put on food stamps, and we are being hijacked at every turn in the market. (THIS is the last thing I'm going to say about the matter...I promise)
http://onegoodmove.org/1gm/1gmarchive/002341.html#002341
Because I read that Bush had said something about no one being able to predict that the Levies (SP?) would flood over. He was wrong. Mr. Bill predicted it!

That's all that I'm going to say about the matter.

eh, I'm not so sure about a president having a party to this type of behavior, unlike the communist coalition. (outside of our borders)

Look at the people near mountains, you get frequent flash floods, mud slides, or any number of cause and reaction circumstances. The science shows that people are just entertained by the notion they are protected.

Hmm, There were alot of militant types there.
Maybe we have enemies in this country. Maybe they work at the refineries, or have ulterior motives. we may never know, but it may occur at any time.

For instance. The Tsunami in indonesia was in the forecast, but there was no foresight to anyone to give them warning. Just incase you didn't know, I have contacts who told me(whom know missionaries that were in indonesia), that two days before the tsunami on indonesia, the death toll to the christians in that area reached 1500 over the past two years. they all left two days before the tsunami. Was it the tremmors, in fear of a major earthquake, or justice? They all left the entire area. Was the forcaster christian too? Maybe the christians were the only ones to leave N.O? Hmmmmm...

I'm not being judgemental, but, I will comment on facts.

Sometimes the most attractive property is in danger zones (i.e. prone to landslides, fires, etc.)
I'm not sure I'd call New Orleans "attractive property" though. It was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Surely you're not suggesting that terrorists can create hurricanes now, are you?

For instance. The Tsunami in indonesia was in the forecast, but there was no foresight to anyone to give them warning.
There was no WAY to give them warning. The technology does not exist in that part of the world.

I think you're taking the term "Act Of God" way too literally.

I will comment on facts.

Facts are funny things.......
