Something seems a little suspicious about these graphics. Are you sure these weren't created in Flash by someone? They almost look like someone was using vector gradients or something..... But then again.... that's just me....

They had white ones, silver ones, and even black ones at the show. The specs are amazing, quite a bit more emough then the xbox 360. Also the ps3 does blueray which xbox 360 dosent do. I'm definitly getting a ps3, might even import it...im really giddy over the tech. Its soooo much faster then my computer.

Pcs will catch up, but at a much slower rate then they did last gen imo. The "emough" these babies have to offer are such a huge leap over ANY 'gaming' pc on the market. I cant wait till someone gets linux hacked on it so I can do renders on them

As for the purple one, if you dont mind breaking your warrenty crack it open and give it a nice coat of paint

I'm hearing a $400 price tag - which is ridiculous. That's way too much for a console.

I like the design of the system - very sleek (yet someone PhotoShopped it making it look like a George Forman Grill, and that was funny!) and the three colors look nice.

I hate the controller. It looks like a Batarang and doesn't fix any of the problems I've always had with the PS series of controllers.

I've heard that their demo reel was pre-rendered CGI - not game engine stuff. That's disappointing.

But, with X-Box 360 launching this year (and just look at what they're doing online with that beast - it's a-frickin'-mazing) and Halo 3 set to launch when the PS3 launches next year, Sony - for the first time - will be playing catch-up.

With no GTA at launch, it will need lots of help.

Well, I've read both sides of the demo reel, Kia. I've heard from non-fanboys at E3 that the reel wasn't game engine material - folks who have no vested interest in one system or the other.

But then I've heard X-Box and Nintendo fanboys say it wasn't while Sony fanboys say it is.

My whole thing is this - We need to see people actually playing these games.

X-Box 360 did that. Sony should have.

And Nintendo didn't show ANYTHING running on their Revolution. Not ONE thing!!!!!! BAAAAAAADD move!

I can only hope that the X-Box 360 will launch under $300. If so, it's off to a huge start.

If Sony keeps this system under $300, things get interesting!

I don't like Sony - mainly because of all of my friends who got totally ripped on the PS2 launch - people who'd pre-reserved their systems which were promised at launch and didn't get their PRE-RESERVED system until 3-6 months later.

Then, there're all of my friends who are on their 3rd and 4th PS2s because of the crappy CD drives, memory failures and other problems.

If a company doesn't care enough about its customers to make better product, then they don't get my money.

I have an X-Box and a GameCube, but I will never own a PS2 based off sheer principle.

I don't hate on fans of Sony - you like what you like - but for that kind of stuff to go on and on, it's just not right. My friends who work at GameStop tell me all the time about PS2 returns and people who have owned multiple systems, yet they never have ANY problems from X-Box and GameCube owners.

Maybe Sony can make a better system this time, but it's not as powerful as they say it is (anyone remember how the PS2 would have "TOY STORY 2" quality graphics?) and of current specs, my gaming geek friends tell me both the PS3 and the X-Box 360 are about on par.

But in the end, it's not about graphics - it's about what you can do with the power of the system. If any of you saw what X-Box 360's Live features are, then you know that you are in store for some great stuff! Online contests, spectator mode, HD television and movie downloads via wi-fi connectivity, movie trailer downloads while talking to friends on Live, more downloadable content for games, the Gamer Cards (so you can actually find out more about who you're playing with), and all games support a minimum of 720p resolution and all support customizable soundtracks - even on Live!

Folks, that's keeping the gamer in mind first! Let's not also forget that all come with a standard 20 gig harddrive that is detachable (so you can take your harddrive to a friend's house to download/upload content) and upgradable!

And the controllers don't look like Yosimite Sam's mustache! They are like the current S controllers with wireless and rumble setups.

And don't let Sony fool you with 1080p talk - it runs 1080 p, sure, but at THIRTY FRAMES a second. Not the standard 60 found on 1080i. Thirty frames is useless at that resolution.

I'm excited for the new consoles. I'll be honest - I think they all look great and I think the Revolution is the best looking of the bunch.
