I just got off the game grid.
Was only there for a while - but I had a pretty good time
While out there I had the pleasure of competing with ProgramKEVTRON1, Wubber, -I- Isaac [DR] (who was only there for a few games while I was on ), WingDemon_, Program_X, SpoonyLuvMech, LightCycleDude, TheGiftedOneNSG, cakeboy, and The Dude {FU} (no relation to LightCycleDude as far as I know )
I played relatively well out there today. I only hit a couple of walls I think. They must have forgotten to turn on the wall magnets... or maybe the wall magnets were still warming up when I got off the game grid
I had some good duals with The Dude and SpoonyLuvMech. They're both skilled cyclists and we took each other down good a few times there. Whether I win or loose them - I LOVE those great duals I find myself in!
Everyone seemed to play pretty well out there today. I won a circuit too... I think it was the last one I played too. Didn't win by much though - as I said, the competition was pretty good out there today.
I wish I could have stayed longer. I've been having trouble finding the time lately. Even on the weekends - there's always something that needs to be attended to.
Catch you all on the game grid again soon!

I hopped on the game grid again a couple of hours ago. I just got off.
And all I can say is... WOO HOO!
Now THAT was some GREAT action and plenty of great folks (and regulars) on the grid tonight! I spent most of my time on the patchgonebad.com server on the custom grids.
I didn't play quite as skillfully as I did earlier today, but I didn't totally suck either. I had my moments... though maybe not too many of them.
Game grid roll call: ToXic, Capt_Capacitor, ch|f'N -sat-, ch|f'N -ho-, bit, ShivaGoddessNSG, The Dude {FU}, purge.exe [NE], twisTEd[OSM], and MutoidMan.
MUTOIDMAN! Welcome back man! Been so long since I've caught you on the grid! Too bad we only had a couple circuits together before I had to leave, but it was GREAT catching up with you again! In the two circuits we played together - I think you took me down good at least a coupe of times too! I also think I got you at least once myself - when you tried sneaking up on me he he he.
Well - there was a LOT of great action out there tonight!
Let's see... ok - the ch|f'N crew, CrackHo and Saturn were really tearing up the grid with great skill! Man - they were taking us all down hard! What can I say - it was a BLAST competing with them! Of course, I took them down a couple of times myself - but they really took me to school over and over tonight!
ShivaGoddess was complaining that the wall magnets (that usually only make me hit the walls) were affecting her tonight. Well, the wall magnets were definitely turned on tonight as I hit the damn walls SEVERAL times, but you can't blame it on me. You see - you were in Layer's RED light cycle and not your usual purple one. That probably just threw you off a little Hey - does Layer know you drive his cycle like that on the game grid? I took you down good a few times tonight too, he he he. Of course - you paid me back VERY generously. Well done ShivaGoddess
I almost forgot to mention - I did win a circuit tonight too! I didn't even know I was winning until JUST before the "loading" screen appeared - I saw my name at the bottom as the winner. It's always fun to win at least one circuit during a gaming session! There was also a THREE WAY TIE in one of the later matches! I've never seen that before. TwistedEdge said he once saw a FOUR way tie. Wow - that must be very rare!
Well - I had a BLAST out there tonight and I think it's safe to say everyone else did too! I wish I could have stayed longer... again, but oh well. I enjoyed the almost two hours I had.
Catch you all again soon back on the game grid!

Thanks Todd! It was great to catch you (and CrackHo and ShivaGoddess and the rest) on the grid again. Yes, you did derez me while I was sneaking up on you... nice one!
The other times you think I got you, to be honest I actually just got around to downloading the latest custom levels and was running around with no clue as to what was going on, so if I got you it was sheer accident. I expect you'll soundly trounce me on the custom levels until I learn my way around them. But I'll try to make it tough for you!
I may actually be able to get online much earlier than is usual for me today and/or tomorrow, so hopefully we'll get to compete for more than just a couple of games again soon. Yeah - I know the feeling of playing on a new grid for the first time. You're just trying to learn the layout of the grid and survive, generally. BUT you still looked pretty good out there. You've definitely got great light cycle skills!
Hopefully we'll run in to each other again soon... er, well not literally run in to each other, but you know what I mean

Tonight I had the plasure of competing with sog {osm}, Sylwia, =flynn=[OSM], Ripstar13[OSM], d|Rk (you changing your sig, or was the upper case "R" an accident? - wish you could have stayed longer), {TG} (that's right - the "flynn" bros were out tonight!), WarMech[TG] (took me down nicely several times tonight - well done!), [B|G|B] C0rrUP7, Disc Bot [DR], twisTEd[BK] and Xcopy who later sported his cape and magically became "Super Xcopy" Really - he did. Well, I don't know if he was really wearing a cape, but he DID become Super Xcopy
Well, I started out very slow tonight. It took me several games to warm up. But after a circuit or two, I started feeling it, and I was playing well. I came very close to winning TWO circuits tonight, but missed by THREE points! WarMech won one of them and I think [B|G|B] C0rrUP7 got the other (that I came close to winning). I did end up winning one circuit tonight too with a final score of 45 (an 18 point lead over the next highest up score). That's nothing spectacular by any means, but it's always fun to win a circuit out there!
Though I only won one circuit tonight, I was really tearing up the grid at times. I started to feel my inner-bastard emerge as I took down other cyclists left and right at times. Man, I really did perform some GREAT takedowns tonight! But I'm not quite of true "bastard" skill yet. Anyone who's met up with me on the game grid for more than just a few games knows that when I'm not busy running head-first in to those damn walls, I have some great moments out there. But my great moments seem to only come in spirts. When I'm "in the zone", I can't seem to hold it for long. So I can enjoy playing like a "bastard", but only for short periods. But I'm working on my "bastard-tude". Who knows - maybe one day, I can be a TRUE BASTARD! But for now, I'll settle for a "scatter-bastard" (scattered bastard moments) skill level... when I'm not busy running in to the damn walls, or my own jet walls!
Aside from my own moments tonight - everyone else was really playing with excellent skill! When I got taken down (the times it wasn't because of my own stupidity) I was taken down with GREAT skill by probably everyone out there tonight - at least once or twice. Even when I'm the one going down - I just LOVE a great take down! There's nothing like being taken down by a worthy opponent after a great dual on the grid... well, taking the other guy down is preferable of course but I can really appreciate a good take down either way.
Was a blast out there tonight!
We'll see you all again soon back on the game grid!

Ahh give yourself credit for what you got. You won two circuits while I was there, and tied with (I think) WarMech on a third. (The last game of that one was fun, you were tired for the lead at start of last race, went head to head, and managed to kill each other without either one getting points)
I also posted so I could nag you into downloading Teamspeak!

Hey - thanks for the correction, Corruption
I really didn't realize that I won TWO circuits! In all honesty - I don't always note who wins the circuits. Sometimes I pay attention to my score and how well I'm doing (in terms of points), but often I get wrapped up in the excitement of the game and the almost continuous comedic exchanges between players and so I don't always notice who's winning or scoring the best. Cool - I won two and tied two... and I do remember that double-derezz (I think it was actually with SOG though) that ended up in NO points for either of us. Very weird, but VERY funny There's nothing like a GREAT take-down TIMES TWO!
And the Teamspeak. I have noticed that several of "the regulars" are now using it. And now several of the regulars have been requesting that I start using it myself.
Last night someone told me (may have been you, Corruption - don't remember now) that it's a whole new "dimension" in the game to hear everyone. I was reading up about it on the Teamspeak site, but I'm not sure yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see if people get to HEAR me say "DAMN WALL" every time I wind up embedded in the wall, instead of just reading my follow up "damn wall" chat message.
Of course, some of the regulars already know exactly what I sound like when I say "damn wall".
I won't be able to hit the game grid tonight, but I'll be rezzing in again soon!

I just got off the game grid
Man - I was just ALL over the grid tonight!
Yep, ALL over the grid... in teeny-tiny little pieces.
I think I invented a new level of SUCKING on the game grid tonight. I can't believe I played so well just days ago to play so horribly tonight. And to make it worse... I found myself up against some of the true grid-demons who were REALLY tearing up the grid with GREAT skill! How embarrassing for me to play that crappy in front of them... I'm so ashamed! Ahhhhhh It was all just a bad dream, right? Oh man.
Tonight I had the pleasure of SUCKING and sinking to new depths of CRAPITUDE in the presence of diRk - ch|ef'N-, Tron Fanatic, SilentNX, twisTEd[osm], SQUID, User ~==Jed|==~, GHOST [PD], Ghost RIder, ShivaGoddessNSG, Prankster {GR}, and for just a game or two Layer ~==Jedi==~.
Now I normally LOVE when I find diRk and any of the other grid demons out there - they're very skilled and tough competitors and GREAT fun to compete with! BUT tonight I was just embarrassed to play so poorly while on the grid with them. Man - what happened to me? I just wasn't feeling it at all tonight. Not at all. I was having difficulty controlling my cycle too - my turn (key-presses) were not always registering. I often do some "warm-up mazes" when I first hit the grid. I self-derezzed in almost ALL of my warm up mazes because of failed turn key-presses. But I genuinely just had no timing on top of that tonight
Of course, since I was sucking and derezzing rather quickly tonight, I at least had the pleasure of watching some GREAT battles between the true grid masters out there. I rather enjoy watching these guys go at it with their faster than lightening, laser precision moves out there!
Now, I did give these guys a little bit of a challenge tonight. You see - the challenge was to derezz me, BEFORE I derezzed myself! Yeah - I sucked THAT bad
Oh well. I did have a few moments out there in the last couple of circuits, but those moments were about two or three good (skilled) moments, and that was all.
Well, hopefully I won't suck so bad the next time I hit the grid. But if I do, that's ok too. I always enjoy watching skilled gamers put on a great show
See you all soon back on the game grid!

I just got off the game grid.
In my brief time there, I had the pleasure of competing with DB [BASTARD], Yezno, yo, purge.exe #5CC#, L [BASTARD], WarMech[tg], DanKn, and The Cyber Witch.
Ok, after last night's CRAPPY-DAMN performance on the game grid, I hit the grid early today to do some practice mazes alone. I kept derezzing quickly again It was a mix of missed key-presses and just bad timing. Oh well. I practiced for a while and then spent some time in the DA with --->Jade and C:\major.exe for a few games.
Not long ago though, I found a couple "BASTARDS" on the game grid - Layer and Dark Boomer. These guys are GREAT fun to compete with! So I had to rez in and just hope that I didn't embarrass myself with awful playing like I did last night.
Well, I didn't suck! Woo hoo! I wasn't great or anything - these guys took me to school several times in a short period - but I took them down once or twice myself too.
Whew! I haven't lost my game totally! Was just a really, really bad gaming session last night. That's all.
Well, I had a great time in the few short circuits I played so far today! I wish I could have stayed longer, but I got stuff to do.
I'm going to try and hit the light cycle game grid again later today. I hope to find some more of the "regulars" there... and it would be cool to see some TRON-Sector members there too!

I just got off the game grid!
Plenty of "the regulars" were on in the short time I had there!
I had a BLAST!
Tonight I had the pleasure of competing with GhostRider {TG} (who played quite skillfully tonight!), Ripstar13[OSM], Cyber_Slave, GHOST [PD], CyberShaman, MystrX, SilentNX, Raven (good seeing you out there man - wish I could have stayed longer!), and just before I had to leave TheGiftedOneNSG joined us.
Well, I didn't suck tonight, but I wasn't all that great either. In my last few games I had some really great moments - I think I took down GhoseRider and Cyber_Slave back to back with a great move in one game! The move was great, even if it wasn't totally planned on my part - but it looked really good A little luck never hurts . I did have some good takedowns though - I LOVE when I'm feeling it! Of course, Raven kept me well grounded - each time I executed a great move - Raven came by and said "hi"... just before taking me down with his classic skill. Always a pleasure to be taken down by a highly skilled cyclist and trained "BASTARD"! I wish I could catch you out there more often, Raven - but there's just not enough "grid time" in my week
Let's see... I think GhostRider had the most wins tonight... or at least as I recall. He was really tearing up out there... well, until Raven stopped in and took us ALL to school! Cyber_Slave seemed to be pretty hot tonight too. I think GhostRider and Cyber_Slave had a few head-to-head battles in the first few games I was in. They put on a good show too
Well, I had a blast, as I think EVERYONE did tonight, and many of them probably STILL are!
See you soon on the game grid!

Yeah - I've had that happen. The other night I wanted to get on, but there was only one LC server with players on it... and it was very full. So I waited, and checked back... and still full. So I hit the DA instead!
ShivaGoddess Wrote:...servers were pretty stable this afternoon, but when i got back on tonite, they were all unstable, default crashed twice, so we had lots of fun plyng guess the good server |
Been there and done that too. I remember one night, not too long ago, there was a bunch of us literally jumping from one server to another after each server crash! I think there were like 3 or 4 server crashes that night! It was kind of funny though. We'd all be in the heat of battle, and then all of a sudden - the other players would all just run right off the grid in to oblivion, and power-ups stopped working, and could travel through my own jet walls... and then the error message would show up after a while. Yep - the classic server crash. And one by one, we'd all gather again on the next server and see how long before the next crash. It was an interesting night.
I won't be on the game grid tonight, but I'll be rezzing in again soon hopefully

I just got off the game grid
Had a good time, though I wasn't playing all that great (was a little rusty I think). I didn't suck or anything, just wasn't in the zone - but I didn't hit too many damn walls while out there. I had some good moves out there too, and even won two circuits
I had the pleasure of competing with we-OwN, ch|ef'n -ho-, I- Man, Sylwia, The Dude, Just Vote, SweatyPyro |NE|, Dutch Kim, D, Wolf.exe, meercat, and Oliver14682.
Now you may notice some new names in there. Were there some newbies out there today? Perhaps. BUT I think it's safe to say that some of the cyclers were wearing their Halloween best Actually, I expected to see a little more Halloween gags going on while I was there, but there was just some brief trick-or-treat joking and altered names. That was it.
The Dude was playing very well out there today, and took me down good a few times. Good work, Dude! Dutch Kim was also playing well and offering some great competition for everyone. It would have been nice if ch|ef'n -ho- could have stayed longer - he had to leave shortly after I rezzed in. There's ALWAYS some fierce competition out there when any of the ch|ef'n clan are on the game grid. The ch|ef'ns are made up of some of the very first gamers to hit the game grid way back when TRON 2.0 was just a demo and not even released yet. Yep - these guys are a blast to compete with, and very tough to take down.
This probably isn't news to any LC regular, but there's an organized TRON 2.0 ladder competition underway at http://www.patchgonebad.com. I think this is geared more toward the serious gamers who's skills are fine tuned, but if you think you've got what it takes to move up the ladder - head on over and sign up. You'll have the opportunity to compete against some great folks!
That's it for now. I'll see you back on the game grid soon

Thank you for the welcome ShivaGoddess
If that didn't make sense to some of you - I joined team "whatever" in the TRON 2.0 Ladder competition, which is headed up by ShivaGoddess. At last glance, Ghost Rider was in there as well - he's a slick one on the game grid too!
I joined team whatever after receiving an invitation from game grid goddess Shiva. The whole ladder thing sounds fun, and I think the team name of "whatever" fits my light cycle skills. Those who have competed with me on the game grid know that I can (sometimes) be a true bastard out there and tear up the competition with great skill... and I can also play like a complete noob and derez myself faster than anyone else can even get to me. So my skill level is kind of "whatever", if that makes sense. Of course, we all know about my fatal attraction to those damn walls! I don't have as many bastard moments as I'd like, and I'm generally more of a moderately skilled light cyclist, but I always enjoy my time on the game grid.
I'm not sure how well I'll fair up in the ladder competition in terms of wins and take-downs against some of the full-time bastards, but I'm sure going to enjoy the experience Honestly - I don't care if I go down, so long as I play well and get taken down in a good dual and NOT because I did something stupid like hit a damn wall or pressed right too many times, etc. My favorite times on the game grid are those moments when I'm going head to head with one of the grid demons and making them work to take me down! There's nothing more exciting than going up against the best of the best on the game grid. I don't care if they take me down 100 times to my 1 time taking them down - to me it's all about the thrill of trying to take down a highly skilled opponent. I prefer competing with those who are more skilled than myself... of course - there are many of those out there, but you know what I mean.
Well, I hope I make team whatever proud to call me a member Time will tell.
