Yeah, so...
I did get to play DJDEREZZ, The Dude, Raven, and TwistedEdge for a while, but not for very long... I'll probably get back on the grid tonight, but for now I'm takin' a break.

Just got off the game grid!

Met up with some of the regular regulars and some of the newer regulars tonight!

I was on for just about an hour tonight. That was enough time for me to get warmed up and get the sucky playing out of the way for some more skilled playing... which seemed to generally end with me screwing up with a STUPID mistake and self-derezzing! Doh!

Oh well.

Tonight I had the pleasure of competing with: [PGB]Layer (always a pleasure man - great moves in those tight spots today!), WarMech (who's getting pretty damn good out there), Dutch Kim (one of the "newer" regulars - and also growing in to some great moves out there), SCIONICS.com, CyberShaman, TwistedEdge, recycleBIN\, and Sphyrna.

There was plenty of action out there tonight with people like Layer and CyberShaman on the grid! Tonight, Layer was displaying his skill in escaping from those very tight, close quarters - you know, when you THINK you've got the other guy trapped because your trail is practically touching the wall, but it's not quite touching the wall, and then they squeeze through? Well, Layer was playing that move masterfully tonight! I thought I had him a couple of times - but he escaped very skillfully. Well done, very well done!

I didn't play great tonight, but I had some moments out there. I did pull off a few slick moves here and there. Regardless of my skill - had a GREAT time out there, and enjoyed everyone's company!

I always say - playing light cycles on-line is only half the fun - the other half is the cool people you encounter and chatting with them during the game.

I just stopped in on the game grid, but only for TWO short games.

I won the first game

And lost the 2nd, with only 3 cyclists left. I left one dual, having to escape as I didn't have the upper hand, only to drive full speed in to another cyclist's trail - DOH!

Oh well - didn't have much time, but two games are better than no games, right?

On the game grid were: [PGB]Boomer, Johnny[PGB] (been a while since I've met up with either of these PGB'rs - good to see you guys, if only for a moment!), Mr. Durps, Cyber_Slave and silentNX - who greeted me with something like "I'm going to suck your blood dry Todd" or something like that. I caught it just as it was leaving the viewable area of the chat.

Watch out - there be vampires on the game grid! I'll make sure to rez in some garlic for my LC next time he he he

ShivaGoddess Wroteh todd...i ran into the cheater...who denyed cheating but admitted he was clippy...he went by chaosmatrix...someone i used to race long time ago...he didn't race floating far as i could tell...he just went up there and stayed there...leaving the rest of us no choice but to derez and let him win....how aggravating! he stopped when i called him on it, at least long as i was there....left because he and edge starting fighting, and i went to a more peaceful server

Soooo - HE'S 1337-clippy? I figured it was purge or recycle. They BOTH employed that STUPID cheat and annoyed a LOT of people with it. They also both seemed to have stopped and play fairly on the game grid these days (from what I can tell, anyway).

It's sad. I've played ChaosMatrix.exe before. As I recall - he seems to play pretty well, and I've not seen him employ cheats during the game, at least while I was on. He also doesn't talk all "1337" like, as clippy did. Perhaps that's just his stupid leet BS talk when he's clippy.

Anyway, I hope he's gotten that cheating crap out of his system. NO ONE that will be impressed with any BS like that on the game grid - no one at all.

I know none of the light cycle regulars will appreciate or be impressed with anyone cheating, or employing tricks that throw off regular game play. In fact, that's a pretty good way of getting a LOT of people pissed off at you. Not a good thing to do if one enjoys on-line gaming.

If you want to play - then play. If you want to f--k around with tricks, cheats, and other BS - set up your own damn game server and invite your own friends to watch you - DO NOT try it while other game enthusiasts are there to enjoy the GAME.

What a GREAT time I had... where do I start?

(LONG post warning - sorry, was excited tonight!)

Well, just after making my "meet me" post, I found a full Dayentech default server out there, so I tried to rez in on the PGB server... but I didn't have the right grid installed - DOH! Too many custom grids out there now... I'm having trouble keeping up to date! Can we just release one BIG-ASS REZ file with ALL the latest and greatest grids like once a month or something? It would be much easier on me!

Anyway, I rezzed in on the Dayentech Extreme server and started warming up alone. Soon, U.F.O. rezzed in and we started to play... actually, we just TRIED to play - the countdown to the game never started because the server was in the middle of CRASHING! DOH!

I waited for a while, for the PGB grid to change to the next circuit, and then tried rezzing in again. Whew! I HAD this grid! When I rezzed in, I found ShivaGoddessNSG (touting her NEW clan name! - good to see you out there!), Capt_Capacitor, U.F.O., and -()- Isaac | FA.

-()- Isaac | FA greeted me with a big "Tooooooodd!" greeting, and I greeted him back with a big "Isaaaaaaaaaac!" greeting! But there was no more greetings from the others for a few more games... odd. Found out later they were TSing (team speaking) and were probably just caught up in (vocal audio) conversation and laughs at the time. I got proper greetings from all before the circuit was out .

Raven and Harpo989 soon joined us and we had some fun on the custom game grids of the PatchGoneBad server! Sadly, the fun-fest was cut short when the server crashed DOh!

Well, we re-grouped on the Dayentech extreme server, which had finally come back up. It was set in TEAM mode - haven't played team mode in a while! Within minutes, most of the gang found their way in, and we all teamed up for some TEAM-FUN!

Corrupt teamed up with me on the blue team. I was a bit rusty as I hadn't played LC for several days, but I was just starting to feel it again. Corrupt and I had some good runs out there and won a few races together! We didn't quite win enough to claim a circuit win though. It was fun and EVERYONE seemed to really be playing FANTASTIC! There were just some GREAT and completive moves taking place. I was HIGHLY impressed with EVERYONE on the grid - it was GREAT FUN! I LOVE playing when the competition level is running high! And I have to say it was great fun playing in team mode, with FOUR full teams of cool personalities and skilled cyclists out there! I had forgotten how fun it was team chatting along with the regular chatting. Some cool side conversations take place between team members - both game related and just general chat during the game.

Unfortunately, the team games didn't last too long... you guess it - the Dayentech extreme server died again, as we all watched each others cycles speed right off the grid and on to oblivion.

This time, we lost some players, but after a while, some of us found our way to the Dayentech default server. It was now Fart_Burglar (and yes, there were a lot fo fart jokes flying about for a while), Corrupt, -()- Isaac | FA, Capt_Capacitor, Sylwia (who just stayed in Spectators the whole time - was probably away from the game), and myself.

We had some good matches and played several circuits together. Corrupt dubbed the night "Crashtacular" - that's pretty much how it was, and he wasn't talking about the cycles! Damn servers!

In our last few circuits, many jokes were flying about. Of course, there was some name goofing going on - that ALWAYS gets interesting and can be quite entertaining! I think Harpo989 became "MartyMc989" for a while, so I changed my name to "TheReelDocBrown" and said the flux capacitor was broken! Ok, just got off the game grid.

When I first got out there, the Dayentech default server was full, and no one was on any of the other servers. So I rezzed in on the PatchGoneBad server and started warming up with some maze-like moves.

I was soon joined by Giger v 0.3.7 and th1rt3en. We played a few games together and bit dropped in to join in the fun. Then came in }{3x1LU2 - a game grid newbie, who played pretty good. As we played, Giger's version rose - I never noticed he did that before! Cool! I think he was up to Giger v 0.8.5 or something before he left later on.

purge =ditto= joined in the game soon... and pestered poor bit over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over about joining in Team Speak. And then he pestered bit about it some more and more and more and more and more and more.

purge =ditto= - you're a good cyclist and fun to compete with, but please, PLEASE STOP pestering people out there! It's not cool to do that - NO ONE enjoys it - not the people you bombard with questions/comments, or the people who have to be in there witnessing it. Please just play the game!

Poor bit!

YCP joined in the game soon, and I think he was a noob too, but he cought on pretty quick and was playing very well for a newbie. He took me out good a few times and even gave [PGB]Layer a run for his money too. Oh, of course, [PGB]Layer joined us out there. Always a pleasure to catch you on the game grid!

TwistedEdge joined in for a few games too, and later recycleBIN\.

After a while, [PGB]Layer and I found ourselves alone on the game grid. It was funny too, because we were going head to head on one grid, and it was one of those GREAT duals that lasts for a while. I thought we were really putting on a good show for everyone else... only we were ALONE out there! I was all excited about putting on such a good show, and holding my own against [PGB]Layer like that... and NO ONE was watching! Actually, it was pretty funny when we found out we had been ditched by everyone.

Next we found ourselves in the HUGE Atlantis map, and decided to wander around and admire the work in Spectators mode. [PGB]Layer showed me some of the unique and often overlooked areas in the map - especially the signatures of those who worked on it, and helped out. It was really cool to see all the customized goodies thrown in there like that. And... is that a Stargate I saw in there too?

recycleBIN\ joined up with me and [PGB]Layer for the last couple of circuits I played. We had a good time out there.

Well, I had me a great time on the wonderful and well-done CUSTOM grids by the talented folks over at PatchGoneBad.com! And I didn't even get booted this time, thanks to [PGB]Layer pointing out the map-pack updates!
