That's bizarre. lol. What'd the DM say about that?
Around 1995, I ran a campaign setting in Ravenloft (multi-plane jumping--long story), the PCs were holed up in one house at night when they were surrounded by zombies trying to break in and attack. Unfortunately, one player whose IQ is on par with Jarvis, lit up molotov cocktails to throw at the zombies out the window.
One problem. He forgot to open up the windows. The player rolled the dice, missed and the cocktails ended up burning the house down as the PCs had to run upstairs, find a large mirror that teleported them out to somewhere (they were investigating a lead to a guy who pulled some crap on them).
So yeah. Idiot burned the house down, causing at least a death or two in the party. LOL. I'll never forget that night. |

lol. I did'nt tell players what to do and just let them do what was needed to be done. I may hint on certain things but no more than that. It was not only until AFTER the fact of their mistakes, that's when I bring it up OR when they realize it after the session ends.
And the bickering ensues. Oh, the hilarity and amusement of watching their b---tchfest of what went wrong. I think they could'nt catch a CLU .

3.5. Man, I had it all, books, figures, Dwarven Forge sets, stuff I bought off ebay to make the playing exciting and more real. The DM was like, too much trouble to set up. "You are so boring, doofus! " When I left CA, I sold it all, lock stock and barrel for 150$. I used to have a bunch of 2nd Ed AD&D books, but now some got sold off and I've narrowed them down to the core basics. I also had a black and white copy of 3.5 as a PDF download to join in the game. But now 4th Ed is out and I'm like, "I don't know about that". I'm quite old school when it comes to the previous versions. Now I have Pathfinder in my collection . I just like to collect certain RPGs for the art and book design to study at. Someday I'd like to do game art for RPGs but for now, I'm doing storyboarding for an old friend of mine who's in the field for CGI work in movies and co-produced a 3-D rendering app.
Fun stuff.

ShadowDragon1, a 5 or 6 is average. A 1 is horrible and a 10 is perfect. For me, Tron Legacy, as a movie unto itself, was average.That's not a bad thing for me. As long as I'm entertained. I definitely got my money's worth.
Contrary to what you might think, I'm really more accepting and lay back when it comes to movies. I'm a big Star Wars fan and was much more excited about Episode 1 than most. But, in hindsight, I think the series should have started in episode 2 with Anakin being discovered in the midst of that movie and at that older age. No Qui Gon, prophecy or midichlorians. The story between Padme and Anakin and Obi Wan, could have then, been fleshed out more; like Han and Lea and Luke.
At any rate, Tron Legacy was not the sequel I was hoping for. Like Episode 1, it was a good movie unto itself, but as canon, it was a disappointment. Now, Tron 3 is looking like the real sequel; Ram, Tron, Flynn Jr, Quarra, Sark 2.0, Yori (hopefully) and the Encom servers. Take some of the design style of Tron Legacy, mix in the look of Tron 2.0 (some color and ditch the real lit up suits for something more alive, PLEASE!) and more relevant use of computer technology. Not this notion that a virtual world is bringing us the next evolution of man crap. Nobody bought that. Where is technology really taking us. What are the real advantages and disadvantages. And a better message than, "Blame it on God". It sounded like a 9 year old blaming his parents for not giving him what he wanted. Life's tough Clue, man up and take responsibility.

IMO, rating a movie a 5 or 6 is rating a movie "below average" and on par with something like Skyline, Jona Hex, or Twilight. This movie deserves at least an 8 - 9 in my view and is *above average*.
I view ratings like this:
1 = sh*t ( the Jack Ass films)
2 = it's laughably bad (lame parody movies),
3 = Uwe Boll Films,
4 = Just Awful (such as Sharktopus, Twilight, Red Riding Hood)
5 = below average ( Skyline, Jona Hex),
6 = a little below average (Legion, most films from "Rogue Pictures),
7 = Average ( such as GI Joe Rise of Cobra, M. Bay's Transformers)
8 = above average.
9 = very enjoyable, strong solid plot (had room for some of improvent), and enjoyable characters played by fairly talented actors.
10 = great plot, characters with great depth that actually have very strong character development.
Everything else is a subjective matter and like The Dude says.. yeah.. well, that's just like your opinion, man. IMO rating this movie "average" is very very harsh...

I think that paragraph hits the nail on the head.
imho - T:L was a 5 out of 10 giving it only a 6 because I have a bit of a passion for the first. T:L was as good as the merchandise they are putting out for it.....plastic and expensive with a few gems to be found.
1) The soundtrack was weak and Daft Punk was overplayed. If I wanted a Daft Punk, or any other group I would go to tubes and download them.
2) Sam - Petulant child-man who is wealthy/bad-a/motorcyclist/sky diver/hacker who enters the virtual world and helps defeat greater minds? I would rather he was an orphan, at least then I would have had some empathy for the character. Instead I hope that the opening scenes of the next movie he dies within the first 30 seconds and Flynn becomes a blu-specter with Obi Wan and Yoda.
3) After I buy the 5 disk blu-ray and a t-shirt I'm going to take a scolding hot shower and cry in the corner.
Respectfully Submitted,
Average Movie Goer Guy

Ha this thread is hilarious. Excellent call on the "Legacy" bit. I'd really like to see what Red5 actually thinks about the sequel now.

Same thing as many of these random haters,trolls and suppossed film critcs from IMDB or elsewhere that sign up to Tron Sector either to troll, bash parts of the movie, or
to brow-beat and push their (sometimes vitriolic), negative opinions/talking points seemingly imposing those comments on many of the Tron fans here that DID enjoy the movie and think it was actually pretty damn good. (not refering to anyone specific, they know who they are...)
Which have me and other Tron fans that mostly only lurk this site now, scratching their heads over many of the harsh criticisms, and in some cases those criticisms are undeserved...
