My name is Sam Halsey & I live in Coshocton Ohio. I have greatly enjoyed the first movie for many years. I would love to see a sequel to this great movie. With all the great improvements that special effects have made in the past few years, any sequel would be amazing & incredibly lifelike. This movie just begs to be made. Please Disney, make our dreams come true!!

My name is Stevenson Vaningan and I live in Petaluma, California. I got hooked on Tron by the Tron 2.0 computer game, and rented the original movie soon after purchasing the computer game. I consider myself to be a fan of this franchise, and would love to see the world of Tron rendered using current computer hardware and software.

My name is James Lampert, I live in Orange County, California, and I make my living as a programmer. I discovered TRON some weeks before it was originally released, when a full-color advertisement was enclosed in the student newspaper at CSU Long Beach. The first thing to catch my interest was that Wendy Carlos was scoring a Disney film. I saw it several times in the first theatrical release, and at least once in its second theatrical release. I have the novelization, the "collectors' edition" DVD, and the CD edition of the soundtrack album.
TRON is a beautiful and powerful film, a film about freedom, with very definite, and very positive, religious overtones. The original arcade video games, partly because the technology of the era limited the amount of realism, were not unduly violent, and did nothing to conflict with the film's message.
I was profoundly disappointed when all of the hype for "Tron 2.0/Tron Killer App" turned out to be not for a theatrical sequel, or even a direct-to-home-video sequel, but for a video game, which I understand to be of the "first-person-shooter" variety. I find it disgraceful that a violent video game is, so far, the only sequel to a motion picture I count among my favorites of all time. Please correct this. We have the technology to do, in hours, on a computer, the sort of animation that took uncounted thousands of man-months with the "backlit" technology used in the original film.

I would really like to see a new Tron movie. Whether that be a re-make of the original, or a brand new story, I'll leave it up to the powers that be. I'd be VERY pleased either way! I'd watch it in the theaters a dozen or more times. -------------------------------------------------------

My name is James Harris, and I've just arrived in Azusa, California, from St. Petersburg, Russia. The original Tron film not only broke new ground in computer animation, it spawned a fan group with intensity rivaling that of the famed Trekkies. Now, with the release of the computer game Tron 2.0, that group has been revitalized, and reawakened for all the world to see-- and made Buena Vista a tidy pile of money in the process. With the success of the video game testing the waters and showing the whole world once again the beauty that is Tron, the time is right for a producer such as Disney to follow up on the success of the game and make a film that will bring millions of dollars into the Disney coffers. The time is right. Opportunity knocks. Don't let this chance slip away.

My name is Kevin Pauley and I am more than happy to sign this petition for a sequel to Disney's revered masterpiece, Tron.
Growing up a child of the 1980s, I can tell you that this film had a huge influence on me. I had never seen anything like it before (and in all honesty, I haven't since) and the film still stands in my top science-fiction films list along side Blade Runner, 2001 and Dark City.
This film set groundbreaking standards that have become the norm today, and I believe a sequel could continue that style. With the current advances in CGI and digital filmmaking, the time has never been more perfect for a new Tron film for new generations of moviegoers and for fans of the original.
Please consider putting the green light on Tron 2.0. The video game has sold very well and is hitting consoles this fall. The DVD has sold well and has allowed more and more people to be introduced to that brilliant electronic world created in 1982. The film still continues to be viewed as a landmark in digital filmmaking.
Respectfully,
Kevin M. Pauley

Eric Faith from Latham Illinois. I'd love to see a Tron sequel because there are so many possibilities with the genre. What if you could get Bill and Melinda Gates to have ironically humorous roles in the movie; I'd bet Bill would love it! Also, there are two brothers in Hollywood that would be a dead ringer (no pun intended) for Jet Bradley. Jerry and Charlie O' Connell from. Jerry was the guy in Sliders series with John Rhys Davies. You could have Jet play a part after the 2.0 story where he starts out on his own making a gaming company and, of course, have Bruce, Cindy, and Jeff Bridges prove to all of us old Tron fans that like a fine California wine, they can only get better with a slight 'bit' of age. he-he. Just some ideas but I hope something can happen. From Intellivision to a Dell desktop playing 2.0. All I can say...wow.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Of all the films from the 80's, there are only two or three that could have a sequel in theatres today with some if not all of the original cast...and be profitable. TRON is one of those pictures.
Back when it was announced that Disney considered dusting off TRON for a potential sequel, I was thrilled. The film pioneeered the early stages of CGI, and in the films context, the filmmakers were literally right on the money when at the defeat of Sark and the MCP, the computer world universe got an upgrade.
What would that world be like now? Will we ever know?
Many films of the 80's did not get the backing of the studios that made them. Many years down the road, fan bases grow, and all Disney did with the release of the video PC game was just bring more fans in. But why stop there?
If you don't think it is worth a big screen treatment, fine. But Disney has even put out DTV titles to some of its biggest animated films. On the other hand, like I said, it is one of the few 80's films that could be made with relevance today.
The film does not have to have the Disney banner, it could have the Touchtone logo. Just don't knock it back to Dimension.

My Name is Thorsten Fietzek and I live in Bavaria/Germany and I`m 22 Years old.
I was 9 or 10 years old, when I watched TRON the first time in german television. The Story, the effects and the whole location left a shining mark in my memorys. TRON is a movie, that will never be forgotten.
But even as a TRON fan, I have to say that I don`t want to see the same adventure for the rest of my life. The PC game TRON 2.0 was a step in the right direction. Please go on in this direction and make a sequel to TRON.
Fans worldwide are waiting for a new adventure in this gigantic but unexplored universe. I hope you will make our dreams come true.

I am Tarja Kauppinen, from Kiuruvesi, Finland. I'm only 20 years old, so I didn't see Tron in movie theaters when I was young. So, that's why I'd like to see Tron sequel in movie theaters. It could be quite interesting to see the new technology used to create the Tron digital world again.

Many years I have waited for the Tron's sequel.
And this way like I, thousands of fans in the whole planet they wait for the sequel of this movie.
The technology is ready to be able to realize something new and spectacular in a sequel.
In my country, hundreds of fans wait for the sequel unpatiently, because they know that TRON is important in the world of the sci- fi, is unique your concept, a real jewel in the world of the sci- fi movies that must continue with the sequel.

My name is Mark Miller. I live in Boulder, Colorado.
I was 12 when Tron came out. I didn't see it in the theaters, but saw it a couple years later on video. By the time I saw it I had heard a lot about it. I was excited beyond belief to see it. I must admit I was a young techie at heart. I was very into computers (still am! I'm a software applications developer today). My mouth was agape from the time Flynn entered the computer world until the end of the movie. I could not believe what I was seeing. At the same time it was SUCH a wonderful experience! I have warm memories of it to this day. Steven Lisberger's vision captivated me. One of the reasons I went into the career I did was because of your movie. I'm not in the digital graphics/arts field, but it doesn't matter. I was already excited about computer programming when I was young, but your movie motivated me to pursue it all the more. I said to myself, "I've GOT to be a part of this future!"
When I got my first DVD player, the first movie I bought was Tron. I got it in haste, in fact, before the 20th Anniversary Edition, because I was afraid it was going to go out of print altogether. You ignited the flame again with your release of the 20th-year edition (which is wonderful!), and the release of the Tron 2.0 PC game. There was talk and excitement about a Tron movie sequel by the same name. But then you let the wind out of its sails! I and my friends (who had all seen the original Tron years back) were waiting in anticipation. We kept wondering, "When is it coming out??" Then I heard the news last year that you put it on hold. A disappointment.
So much has happened with technology since Tron, and there are new issues today in the technology world that are just as hotly debated as when Lisberger made it more than 20 years ago. There is fodder for a new film. I still see a place for Lisberger's vision in our world.
Some years back the ITAA was raising the alarm about a shortage of programmers in the U.S., and they partnered with the U.S. government to produce some videos with a few TV/movie stars to encourage students to go into Information Technology. They promoted the idea of the lifestyle and the (then) mucho bucks one could make in the field. I thought this approach was all wrong. Students need to be inspired, not just by money, but by their sense of creativity. Tron was one of those inspirations for me 21 ago. Tron 2.0 (the movie) can be an inspiration for a new generation of technologists now. I encourage you to move ahead with the sequel, and to give the visionary Steven Lisberger creative control of it.
I would love to see a sequel so long as it's well made, and seems technologically relevant. Tron had a very distinctive feel to it that was different from most other Disney animated features. It was somewhat adult-themed without going over the line such that parents would feel uncomfortable with their kids seeing it. It had a certain rebellious grit. Perfect for teenagers. I think getting too Disney-cutesy with the sequel would just ruin it. Avoid that temptation!

My name is Jody Craig and I live in Marion, Illinois. I would love to see a sequel to this awesome movie. I've been a fan of TRON since it was released back in '82'.
I believe a sequel would be a success since the world had to catch up to the first film. We know that the CG effects will not only look better, but are easier to do. I believe that if a sequel was done and relates well to the first movie, it will be a block-buster hit.
TRON played a huge part in my life. It inspired me to learn about computers and made me become a computer tech.
I can't believe I missed this petition for so long. If I knew it was around, I would had been somewhere in the top 5 signers.

Jadem Coxon.
The original movie should never have been ignored by Disney. It was written as a methodically conceptual, with a chaotic evolutionized invention. We loved to see the hunt, where it serves it's purpose.
The sophistication brought suddenly in the plot of tron 2.0, the work of evil CEO's, nothing speaks to the evolution of the Tron universe we saw. Would you sit down and talk to the russian Mob? get a life, for the movie we know.

I just wanted to sign this wished I had discovered it sooner as well. But in any case I saw TRON in the theaters with my brother when it came out. I was so glad I had that opertunity. I only hope as so many others do that if & when the sequel is made that it lives up to the standards of the original. It had such an awesome feel that I have not seen in any movie since. It was a journey for me & my brother that Im sure many of us would love to experience again for the first time. All Im saying is don't make the mistake that so many movies now days are making by doing the same ol rehash. Tron with all the technology of today could be a totally new experience again.

I am David Carroll Hall, of Jacksonville, Florida...
I grew up in the 70s playing coin-op videogames, and then the old Atari2600. Around 1980 or so, I moved up to a Radio Shack Color Computer and started programming in BASIC, and eventually started calling BBSs and the like. I was about 16 when Tron came out, and I saw it with a friend of mine who was also into computers. (His machine was a TI99/4A.) Tron was a truly intriquing concept, and a visual feast. The idea of actually going INSIDE a world of video-games and computers, being "on the other side of the screen," was just stunning.
Some of the imagery and concepts of it stuck with me for years.
Unfortunately, the Tron-themed toys came and went too quickly from the stores for me to snag any of them... though I had meant to do so. >SighSighwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

My name is Richard Zilg and I would love to see a sequel to the 1982 film TRON.
TRON was a defining film for a generation of youngsters (myslef included) who were facinated with computers. It was a very obvious stepping-stone in human culture in making people more comfortable with the idea of a quick thinking machine doing much of the work, and rather than following the typical "good-bad computer/robot" plot of standard sci-fi, it introduced the idea of ETHICS into many young people's hearts.
With the new century, the children of today are entering a new phase of life with computers and look at them in a way that 20+ years ago we could never imagine. Imagine what could be done with Sid Meade & Moebius's designs today? how DO children of today feel about the technology that surrounds them since their birth?
Disney, make a sequel to this film. The kids of today- and society at large- need this type of beautiful, original fantasy in their lives again in a new way.
