If you think about it a little, Tron really does lend itself to some sort of religious interpretation. The "programs worshipping their users" is a total analogy for religion. Sark is the Atheist who is trying to get the programs, or, Christians, to express disbelief in the Users- or, God.

True indeed, LWSrocks2. Religion is one of the main symbolic ingredients of the TRONiverse, as has been stated by Lisberger himself.

That church is COOL!!!! I would definitely feel like a kid in a candy store in that church lobby. I gotta give them their props for they pretty much nailed the details of the Tron: Legacy world to a "T" (pun intended, LOL!!!!!!)! I even love the EOL Bar and the Flynn's Arcade (the font is EXACTLY like it is in the movie).

To the OP: Thanks for posting this!

Ha! I'm pretty sure there are no priests at this church but I think it might get a little too weird and distracting if the pastor was to don a TRON outfit. I did watch the 'sermon' online for this week which used a movie as material to support the message - pretty good!

I was going to do a day trip next week if they were going to keep the lobby in the TRON theme, but I just called the church and they're tearing it down as I type.
End of Line...

Too bad; would have been a great Oklahoma City excursion!

Wow, I must say, that is awesome...They did a wonderful job, and I loved their attention to detail. I am not religious anymore, but having that background in my past, I definitely saw parallels immediately when I saw the first film (and well into the second). I do also recall Mr. Lisberger himself mentioning this in a media format I can't recall at the moment. I really like how the church incorporated elements of the first film, not just the sequel because it's "new", and stereotype that "kids automatically eat up anything for the sake of novelty".

Tron is often criticized for its lack of depth, or pseudo-philosophy. While I agree that it isn't as deep as I'd like it to be, it's a wonderful story (in more than just the 'fun' way).

Too bad they already took the set down. Though I must say that, as cool as that stuff is, I really hope the church is doing it in accordance with their beliefs, and not some other (superficial, self-enriching negative) means. But I've known some great, incredibly devout people who are sincere yet realistic about people they feel they need to reach. As a non-religious, why do I care? because I am the sort who believes that if one is to follow something (especially something generally positive that aims to enrich people's lives), that they should do so earnestly. That particular religion gets a lot of flak (Well, what religion doesn't?) but I've known quite a few people in it who are indeed selfless. I may not believe as they do, but I respect those whose lives are carried by such peace. If only humanity weren't so...human.

Which leads me to my next point. TRON. Best program ever. In fact, my fiance doesn't realize I can't marry him after all.

Sorry about the rambling there. I'm a bit tired at the moment.

Symmetry_of_Illusion I like your avatar. I was picturing Yoda fighting that way before Episode 2 came out. Except, I visualized him floating while meditating, using four sabers to fight off attackers.
