Sorry to hear the Tron 2.0 mod didn't make it. I admit that I was torn in my voting... I love both of these things so much. Tron vs. the mod I worked on... how hard of a vote is that??

I second that. The real problem with release dates is this:

GAME A is set to release on 12/30/07. It is 12/25/07, and the development team really has to speed up and throw the game together with tape and glue to get it out on the release date.

Now, let's look at GAME B. GAME B was announced several years ago, but because the development team wants to *gasp* put a mysterious force called quality into the game, they don't have a set release date. Therefore, all this time the game's release date has been TBA for two or so years, thus causing people to lose interest.

GAME C's studio is ditching the TBA's and putting a 10/14/09 date on a game when it's announced on 3/6/08. Problem is, when it get's around to 10/10/08, and they are determined to put this quality thing in the game, they have to keep bumping it back constantly until they finish it. But, the constantly changing release date could cause potential customers to lose interest in the project.

THAT is why I hate release dates.

Yeah, I know . . . it sucks. Sorry it's going to be late. I don't think anyone on the team isn't disappointed, that we didn't manage to get it done in time for the holidays.

But don't worry, this isn't another Duke Nukem Forever situation. It's technically done already, but it still needs a bit more work and some testing before we release it. We don't want to put it out there without thoroughly testing it first.

Also, we've got a couple of additional surprises in store for everyone, that we haven't been letting on. Trust me when I say, the 18th is going to be a big day for new Tron 2.0 content.
