Hey, I caught the message from the hosting service that said the TS was up for renewal. Which means you must have done that. I love the TS and would like to help out... funds wise. If you'd like to PM me a paypal account, I would be more than willing to donate/help out.

Gotta be careful about that, though, because if Auric actually starts MAKING money from this site, Disney might invoke some copyright laws.

That's true. I have to be careful with the TRON fan-movie I'm working on, as well. We can make the DVDs, but we can't sell them for profit.

guys, TS isnt a money making site and never will be. i think there was just a mistake about that error message. besides it doesnt cost any1 money to run this site

My mom and I run a website that is hosted by Network Solutions (the same people who host Tron-Sector, according to that error message) and it costs us a rather large sum of money to have them host our website.
No doubt, Auric has spent money on the domain name and hosting capablities for this site.
I'm not saying Tron-Sector is making any profit, I just want to point out that it's not cheap hosting your own site.

You're quite wrong on that, Data ghost.
Bandwidth is quite expensive... and if you run out of bandwidth, guess what? Either you have to wait for next month for your site to return or pony up more money!

All the worries about PayPal? Not sure they're warranted. There are already advertisements on this site. You click a buy something?, I'm sure Auric makes some money. Whether or not it's enough to surpass the hosting costs... but still.

Well... my point was to help Auric, not buy useless crap that he'd only see 1 cent on the dollar for. I'll help Auric out, but I don't feel any obligation to "help" out any companies that advertise on this site. Know what I mean?

It's Google ads, so they're not advertising directly on the Tron-Sector. I remember when Auric added the ads, he mentioned a "per-click" payback, that only amounted to a small pittance. The only way he'd see money is if we all sat here all day clicking on those ad links.
I'd rather just throw him a few Paypal, dollars, but being that I have had no response to my initial offer, my guess is it's not needed anyway.

Guys.. no worries on the hosting or domain or anything. My renewal didn't auto-renew because my on file credit card was an old one. Nice of them to let me know, eh?
All is well.
