Battlestar's TRON reference

on Friday, December, 01, 2006 10:13 AM
Don't think anyone had mentioned this one yet...

Writer/producer Ron Moore confirmed in his podcast for episode 3.08 of Battlestar that his use of "end of line" on the show (twice now) was a reference to Tron, stating that he always loved the rhythm of the phrase. I was amused when one of the hybrid Cylons used the phrase a few episodes ago, and was really wondering if it was an intended reference when it showed up again in a dream sequence (on a door) in the most recent episode. The show doesn't do many overt genre references, but there are some that sneak through (many from Blade Runner, etc). Tron references in shows like BSG are surely rare, though.

Unfortunately, I don't think many people watching the show will get the reference. Let's hope they listen to the podcasts!

Nice to hear that Moore confirmed the line is indeed, an homage to Tron.

Which series of the new Doctor Who are you folks on - the first or the second?

We're waiting for the third, which Rose (thankfully) shouldn't be in! I hope the Doctor's new assistant isn't as annoying...order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
