Toto

I noticed No Excuses is a Toto fan like me.

A lot of people don't realize there is so much more to them than their radio hits.

This is one of the greatest bands in the world. Excellent players on every level.

So, who else is a fan, and what's your favorite album and your Top 5 Toto tunes?

Mine are...

Album - Isolation

Songs:
Kingdom of Desire from Kingdom of Desire
Home of the Brave from The Seventh One
Lion from Isolation
Rosanna from Toto IV
Gift With A Golden Gun from Turn Back

OK, it's your turn.....

I like the whole Fahrenheit album. I also like "The Seventh One" which came out the time I started college, so I remember Pamela playing on the radio a lot. I kind of lost track of them after that.

I think they did an AWESOME job on the Dune soundtrack and I still listen to that often.

Steve Lukather is a great musician. As is all of them in Toto.

Wow, I inspired a thread (kinda)!

I gotta agree with you, the key to Toto's greatness is the quality of each individual musician. I guess that's not particularly surprising considering the band is made up of session musicians, but they've proved themselves to be much greater than just a bunch a technically proficient players. These guys know how to write a song.

Pretty unsuprising choice maybe, but if I had to choose a favourite album, it would have to be Toto IV. Is that because it has all the hits on it? No. Because every single track is sheer quality. There isn't a moment of filler on the entire album.

Isolation is a great album. Don't get me wrong, but I just don't find it as consistent as Toto IV. It has great tracks and is loads more technical than IV, definately, but I guess my major problem with this album is that they replaced the excellent Bobby Kimball for Frederiksen, who just isn't in the same league.

Choosing my favourite songs was hard, as I just can never pick favourite songs ever (not just for Toto, the same goes for any artist). But here's what I came up with after a lot of changing my mind (in no particular order):

Rosanna from Toto IV
Rockmaker from Toto
King of the World from Falling in Between
I Won't Hold You Back from Toto IV
Stranger in Town from Isolation

I haven't got all of their albums yet, I admit, but I definately recommend the new album. It's a real return to form.abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

I like them so much more now that they have that harder edge to their songs. Kingdom of Desire is one of the single most overlooked hard rock songs in my opinion. Great guitar work on it, excellent lyrics and vocals. Can't ask for much better.

I came across some bootlegs of theirs in my collection today.

"Gift Of Faith" - Various venues 1993-1996

"Live Paris 1980"

If anyone wants them I could upload them to the usenet groups, or some server space somewhere.

Ooh ooh, me! (Raises hand)

Hmmm. How to do this. I could send you a CD or DVD to copy them onto if that would work?

If you grind up breath mints and sprinkle it on your food, would your breath smell good after you ate?"

I prefer the term 'pit stain' thank you.

As for Toto, if you can listen to the Kingdom of Desire album and tell me they don't totally rock, then you suck! order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Hell, the latter half of the 70's and most of the 80's was Toto playing for someone. You can hardly touch a Top 20 pop or rock album that someone in that band wasn't on.

Great players, one and all.
