This commercial has to be related to GMs "World of Motion," since that EPCOT exhibit used very Tron like art. I would love to see a photo of the "Hub City" that viewers saw at the end. Wonder if any photos of it can be tracked down.

The ride is capped of by a glipse of the future. Vehcles descend around the CenterCore, a depiction of the city of tomorrow, which uses the full height (60ft) of the building. The city is created with fiber optics, liquid-neon, projectors, and advanced lighting technologies.
Huh? Okay... did they really use Tron video segments for this exhibit?

Up next are some speedrooms, which contain projections on the curved walls to make us feel that we are in the middle of the action. The first speedroom has projections of different kinds of travel, including flying, skiiing and underwater travel. The next speedroom has scenes from the computer world of Tron. Next we arrive at the center of the building, which contains a large model of a futuristic city. The city contains all sorts of transportation - cars, monorails, airplanes - showing that as man continues to progress he will continue to find new ways to travel. For the final scene of the ride, we pass a large mirror, which shows us riding in a sleek, futuristic car.
Oh... did a quick search and, there seems to be a full video of the whole ride on this site, from four different angles. But must be a member to download. Video says it's 80 mb, and 20 minutes long. Site

Man, that's cool.
I miss the digital dash. Don't know if anyone else does, but I do. They could do a much more advanced digital dash today, too.

You know what the scenes in that comercial reminded me of? The lightcycle scenes! 
Anyways, I still see traces of stuff from that commercial around in newer commericals today strangely enough. One of these things that jumped out was that light sillouette where you could just make out the outline of the car. I just saw something similar done in another very recent commercial.
But still.... that was pretty cool!

The one type of digital dash that I really hate is the kind like in the Lincon Town Cars from the mid 90s where it's just large digital numbers that change and nothing else. Dad had one once and I hated how there was no digital gauge system to get a feel for how much your accelerating or deccelerating. I like that the Corvette has that green gauge.
