I was truly shocked when I found out on Facebook. I haven't been on here in awhile, but Jay was such a wealth of knowledge about TRON. He certainly was a TRON Super fan. Plus, he loved so many other movies from the 80's that I LOVED too. His articles around the time of TRON Legacy and videos were AWESOME! Thanks Jay for all that you did for TRON & people in general. You will be missed.

Oh, wow... really?? That's terrible. He did so much to help make Tron relevant on a wide scale, and as a Tron fan I can say his candid interviews/videos of Tron cast members were truly memorable and touching to watch. You could tell he had a passion for the franchise and seemed like a nice guy. He will be missed.
Such sad news I'm so sorry to hear, and my condolences go out to his family and friends...
Bruce Boxleitner tweeted (https://twitter.com/boxleitnerbruce):"Jay West was a columnist for @latimes' Hero Complex, was a tireless advocate for #Tron and a friend. We will miss Jay on the grid. #RIP"

Wow...I'm shocked.
He brought the whole community together, both the fans and creators/actors of Tron.
He was a hard worker and good-hearted. Thank's Jay, for all the good memories. I'm cold and calculating. Don't press my buttons.

Been a while since I've been here, as well. I also just heard about the news on Facebook. He did a great job at bringing the community together around the time Tron Legacy was being built up and after it was shown in theaters. I know that he won't be leaving my memories.
TRON 2.0 (PC) name - TRON.dll
I'll play any mode, but I'm best at LC.

Jay was a friend on Facebook, and I always looked forward to his posts. His extensive collection of scifi memorabilia was something to behold. The thing about Jay was how much he expressed his love for his 2 sons. He will be sorely missed.

Dang. Yeah I always enjoyed his posts...he always had fun things to share...findings, collections, etc. He is remembered well. Left a legacy of his own.

Greetings Programs:
Been a long time since I've been in the sector. Very sad to hear about this. Jay was one of the folks I always googled for TRON information, especially after that 2008 T:L vfx trailer hit Comic-Con. I also remember some awesome coverage he did of that and the ElecTRONica Show and he answered some questions I had about that, on youtube. R.I.P. and my condolences to his family.
Fighting for TRON, The USERS, Both Flynns, Independents, and the mighty ISOs since '82. |
