At the of TRON Legacy....
when Flynn switched the Discs... CLU gets angry as he throw Quarra's...
Disc down on the ground....
At first I thought he was going to throw it right at Flynn....
So why did he decide to now derezzed Flynn there???
If he had derezzed Flynn...
then he could got out of the portal....
I just always felt he either really respected Flynn...
and remembered their past friendship...
or maybe he was scared of Flynn.....
what do you think???

We are told that to destroy Clu, Flynn must undergo "reintegration", which would destroy Flynn as well. Likely that was equally true for Clu; to destroy Flynn, Clu might have had to destroy himself.
Other possible reasons:
- Without his disc, Flynn was irrelevant.
- Clu is programmed in such a way that he is forbidden from directly harming Flynn.
- Clu's goal was to escape the Grid. With that done, Flynn's destruction would be easy. (Just a keystroke, as they say...)

I simply think that he couldn't bring himself to do it. Yes, he really disliked Flynn. But he still made him! No matter how much you hated them, it would be hard to kill your parents, unless you totally went off the deep end.

Also, Flynn's a User, so he wouldn't derezz like the other programs. I know he can still be mortally wounded but it might be harder to kill him?

Wouldn't flynn just appear in the real world if he got Derezzed ?
I mean remember in the 1st Tron Flynn jumped into the MCP...
they thought he died for them. But really he just got transported back to the real world..

I've run with that idea before, of course... I could argue either way. Nothing in T82 really suggests Flynn dies when he jumps into the MCP. T:L is a bit less ambiguous... at least if you're assuming that that giant explosion has the implications in-Grid that it would in the "real world." But I could also argue against that.

We could argue that it's not an explosion, it's some sort of outpouring of energy. Flynn appears to disappear, but our sight of him might just be obscured. Etc.
So, IOW... interpret any way you like? Especially if we don't get further input from Disney.

Or perhaps Q's disc hasn't got the permissions... maybe with Flynn's disc (administrator privileges), he could've done it?
