I remember renting the VHS tape from my dad's work, and I also remember taping TRON off of cable... I still have the tape!! It's got commercials from the 80's (TWIX, Toys R Us-She-ra commercial, Lazer Tag)
DaveTRON even made a digital copy of the tape!!where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Honestly, all I remember of Tron from being a kid is the poster. The one with the closeup of Tron + Yori. My grandpa and uncle used to run a video rental store, and they must've had that poster up. Somehow I knew it was some kind of futuristic videogame thing, but I'm not sure how. (Maybe a lot of that sort of stuff was coming out around then too.)
I have no idea why I remember it; I feel like I can even remember where it was in the store, but that's probably all in my head.
It's possible I just remember the poster from some time later on, too, because I can't imagine I remember a poster I saw when I was 4 or 5 from a movie I never watched, but who knows.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I still remember the first time I saw TRON. I was 7 years old and my dad was in the living room when he called me in and said "Jason! TRON is coming on TV in a few minutes, wanna watch it with me?" At the time I had never heard of it before, so I asked, "Whats it about?"
DAD: "It's about a guy who's transported into a computer and has to fight his way out!"
(As you would guess by now, my dad is not the best at explaining the plot of a movie. :P)
ME: "That Sounds Stupid!"
DAD: "No Its not! Trust me its really cool! I think you'll like it!"
I walked in the living room expecting something stupid... I was dead wrong...
I remember my eyes were glued to the TV during the "Creation of TRON" opening, and I have loved TRON ever since!
I dont remember this at all, but my dad was telling me how one time he walked in on me having an imaginary battle with the MCP. He said that I had took his ultimate frisbee disc and was throwing it around the room! :P (I must have looked stupid)
But yeah, thats my story!

When I was 14 my dad got Tron from the local grocery store's video rental place. I asked what it was about and he said that it was a Disney movie based off a video game. I liked Disney movies and I liked video games, so I decided to watch it with him. I fell asleep during the "Illegal Exit" scene. I found it confusing and boring, as my dad told me it was based on a video game, and I couldn't figure out what game it was based off of.
Skip ahead to about one year later. My memory randomly jumps to this obscure Disney movie about this guy that goes into a computer. I grab it from the local library to check it out and at that point my obsession with Tron begins. Later that year I got TRON 2.0 for my birthday and was introduced to this amazing community of Tron fans. Two years after that I freak out in the middle of the night upon learning of the existence of a sequel, then known as .
It's been an amazing five years (and counting) in this community, seeing it change and grow over time. I think I can safely say that Tron 2.0 is the only game in which there was not a single fan-made map, mod, or conversion that I overly disliked or found to be incredibly broken. The community around Tron and Tron 2.0 is quite simply amazing. I've made some great friends over this period of time and I can say with a high degree of certainty that the time I've spent in this community has been unlike any other online community.
Like many other members here, I believe that Tron changed my life.

Tron is the reason I got into the computer industry, I remember watching it when I was very young and logging onto my commodore vic 20 and trying to program my own little Tron world (yes I actually thought Tron was real). However seeing as Tron was released the year before I was born I think I can be forgiven for thinking that ;D order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I was born in 1979, which means that I was about 3 when the first film came, thus meaning that I was much too young to have seen it at the cinema.
To be honest I don't actually remember the first time I saw it-it was on television occasionally throughout the 80s, and even then I don't remember how many times that was.
I remember watching it with my family on the TV one evening (it was dark outside), and it was the Tanks & Lightcycle sequances I remember the most vividy (due to the distinct visual style).
I think the last time I saw it on TV (before recently) was in the late 80s (about 89/90). I remember it was on during some public holiday in the afternoon, and it was the summertime-it was hot and sunny outside.
(and again it was mostly the Tanks & Bikes sequances I remember well).
And then there was almost NOTHING for about the next 15 YEARS! I don't really remember hearing almost ANYTHING throughout nearly the whole of the 1990s (least of all on TV or anywhere else).
And then, about 5 or 6 years ago (round about 2005) I saw online that they had released a Special 20th Anniversary 2-Disk Edition, and I made a note of the shop that sold it.
So I went in there and brought it, and that night (with a Mcdonalds take-away) I sat down and watched it.
And I loved it! All those memories just came flooding back to me-the Tank chase, the I/O Tower, everything!
The wave of nostalgia was akin to being hit in the face by a wet sponge-rather refreshing, has it were!

I find it funny that the year I was born is the same year Flynn disappeared in the Grid.
I didn't watch TRON when I was a kid (I didn't even know it existed when I was smaller) I heard about it when I was like 10 I think, was curious about it (because who wouldn't be?) But I could never find it in stores so I was kinda out of luck at that point.
Fast forward a few years, and low and behold, it shows up on the Sci Fi channel and I sit down to watch it for the first time.
Needless to say, my obsession began there. I've always been a big gamer, but something changed that day, from then on I wanted to be Flynn (which I think is a good role model right?) So here I am now, in college for computer courses (doing very well I might add) and after these classes are done I'm going to learn to make games.
I can honestly say TRON changed my life.

I did get to see it in the theater ... sooooo long ago. I was 9, and the outside world was waiting for Jedi to finish the trilogy ... in the meantime, there was TRON, The Black Hole, E.T., Raiders, and my personal all-time favorite movie from back then, Condorman--a spy movie with supercars, supervillians, sidekicks, and sexy Russian secret agents. Wow, yeah, that reminds me, I need to look it up and see if it's available.

I do. I even told Mr. Boxleitner this one at MegaCon earlier this year: One of my earliest memories was going to the local video store and renting TRON and watching it many times within the time from getting it home to taking it back.

I didn't see it in a theater, but watching it at home for the first time was amazing.
I was engrossed. I almost cried at the end, Mainly because I didn't want it to end and the music was so damn beautiful. I was literally sad that the movie was over . . . I've never felt that way about a movie before or since.
I tried to make Tron action figures after the movie was over . . . and I wasted a ton of graphing paper . . .
(I'm back again . . . woo)

Like Rectify, I also got to see TRON in the theater in 1982. I was 11 years old and it completely blew my mind! It ignited my imagination like nothing ever had before (and nothing really ever since! LOL!).
I begged my mom and dad to take me to the store so I could get a TRON toy. I got the yellow Tomy lightcycle with the plastic zip draw tab. I had SO much fun with that thing! The lightcycles were my favorite and I used to draw them and color them with these bright-colored Pentel markers I had.
The whole digital world that Lisberger and co. created was incredible. The Grid was a universe that nerdy kids like me were COMPLETELY drawn into. I don't think a modern day analogue exists in today's cinema that can accurately compare to the impact and effect that the world of TRON had on kids in 1982. TRON was what ignited my interest in computers. I credit TRON for being the reason I grew up to work in the IT industry and still work with computers (GIS) today.
BTW Rectify, the way you worded your post completely transported me back to 1982...waiting for Jedi, introduced to Indiana Jones, flew with E.T., etc. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! Oh, and I LOVED Condorman also! The car chase scene was the one that stuck out in my head most vividly! For those who don't know the awesomeness of Condorman, here's a clip of the car chase scene:

The first date my (now) wife and I went on was to see Creepshow.
I was in the 11th grade taking second semester computer programming when was out. For my final project, I wrote a game (in TI Extended BASIC - woo!) called TRON Recognizer. It was a two-player game. Player 1 had to pilot a stolen Recognizer and dock with a moving target, before player 2 destroyed the Recognizer with a Logic Probe.
I got an A.
