I am still battling a sinus infection and am quite congested, which means singing at church for the past two days has not exactly been a success (takes a huge toll on one's vocal quality), including the premiere this morning of my setting of the Hodie Christus Natus Est text plus the refrain of Veni Emmanuel for soprano and handbells... but sometimes even if the music isn't perfect, it's the thought that counts (and luckily, all the church people always say you sound wonderful even when your voice is doing its best Louis Armstrong/Janis Joplin impression!!) Rest of day is for family (still no concrete plans laid out). This is the first year I've spent Christmas at home; previously I would travel back to my hometown to visit my mum and my church there but this past summer she moved near me, so now I can spend Christmas at my church here, with my mom, and with my partner and perhaps his family if he wants to go over there. Nice to not be pulled in two directions for once!

I hope everyone is well and healthy and happy and able to find joy and peace today, in whatever form that may take for you.
