So I clicked the Who's Online thing here..
and found this..
There are a total of 4 Users and 362 Conscripts currently online
So users are people who are signed in as members?
and conscripts are just people viewing the forums as guests???
I never noticed this before..
Looks like we have more users than conscripts !

Probably bots of some stripe. I have a private forum that is only viewable by members. Nobody else has even been told about it, and if they tried to go, they'd just get a big blank forum saying they have to be a member. So it's doubtful there are real people hanging around for more than the two seconds it takes to see that there's nothing for them there. Yet we always seem to have "guests," sometimes as many as 30 (Flynn lied, Q: there are always guests). When I check out the IP addresses, sometimes they're stuff like Amazon.com, etc. I don't fully understand it myself, I just know it's possible. Since websites can track everywhere we go, I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of follower with many of us; I'm not 100% sure how that technology works as I've never studied it in any detail, but perhaps it involves some sort of bot.
What do you want? I'm busy.

Well one thing for sure..
I think you're some of them could be people viewing..
and some could be just bots like you said..
but for there to be over 300 guests last night..
probably a lot of them were bots..
and Yes Flynn lied! THere are guests sometimes...

How did you get the IPs of the conscripts?

I'm referring to the totally-different, non-related, forum I spoke of above, where I'm the Admin, so I have all sorts of user powers. Around here... I just got bit powers. Yes yes yes yes yes.
