I'm actually pretty surprised I haven't found a topic for VOCALOID. It is mainly a Japanese thing but they seem to be getting national attention lately. Anyways, VOCALOID is a series of synthesized voice programs that musicians use to aid in music production. In a sense, these programs are the world's first "virtual" Pop idols. (that have gotten popular anyways.) Granted, they don't have intelligence or anything but they have concerts, albums, "personalities", ect.

I've thought that myself to. I always imagine that any Program would cry at "The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku" since the song is about Miku being deleted/derezzed. And same goes for "Kokoro -The Perfect Program-" which is about Rin waking up and her User is dead. And he leaves her the "kokoro" program which gives her feelings.

Me to... I always tear up when you hear Miku talking and it's all distorted. And at the end of "Kokoro" I totally cried to.

That's exactly my thoughts. I know in Japan they are building a robot that has Miku's voice. (it doesn't look like her though.) I'd post the link but I'm to lazy to go look for it right now.

I find the lives to be amazing. The holograms are so cute. A bit stiff, but still. They're touring in the US with them right now. I wish I could go so bad. -_-

It would be amazing if in the future they'll eventually have VOCALOID programs with A.I.

I know the VOCALOIDs aren't going anywhere anytime soon since they're popularity is rising. And there is four new VOCALOIDs coming out soon. (Hibiki Lui, Suzune Ring, Mee, and Uu.)
