they tried selling it here in the states back around 2000 with english speaking vocalist sets,
but antares autotune hitting popularity at the same time pretty much killed it's sales chances.
for a studio needing session vocalists it's easier to just tune the crap outta poor singing than it is to program out an artificial vocalist.
i've always found the tech side of it intriguing but boy is it a royal PITA to program,
seems asians with a decade of experience under their belts really know their way around it.

It's not that hard at all. I had a few verses of the song 'prgrammed' the only reason I didn't use it was because all the male vocaloids suck. :P

Neat title, what genre was it? And I think VOCALOIDs will only be worth it if you know the program well and want to take the time to tune them just right.

Oh yeah, the Engloids. I love SONIKA and Big Al. Prima is pretty good to.
And yeah, trust me, the program is very diffcult to work with unless you know what your doing. I've heard some VOCALOIDs that are tuned so well that they sound almost human. The Japanese do know what they're doin' alright!

Again, if you know what your doin'. *nod* A-a-and wha-? What about Piko or Gacktpoid? (and i've seen Len used very well.)
KAITO kinda *sucks* though. The only songs I like with him are his duets.
