I stated in other threads how great the film is.

I will say one thing with version #2... it REALLY loses a lot not having the Daft Punk backing sound track.

Anthony, you did a fantastic job with this film! As Kevin Flynn would say, "Radical, man!" LOL! Very impressive work!

The cinematography, editing, effects work, all of it was very professional and had a very high quality, polished feel to it.

I understand that you couldn't use Daft Punk's tracks, don't want any copyright infringement there. But I thought the music you used worked well with the piece.

I don't know if you can share it with us or not, but I'm sure many of us here would like to hear more about how you put this together, what all went into making it, what inspired you to make it, etc.

Tron: Destiny was shot in 3 days on my 7d. I spent 2.5 weeks on post work (with help from some great modellers). All done during my holidays
I only had a day to cast and I was so lucky to find the great talent I did on such short notice (and yes... We styled Alyssa to have an Ally Sheedy look).

All I knew when I started this project was that I wanted to see a lightcycle in the real world. That simple idea was enough for me to invest all that time and effort to make it real for all of us.

This is an audio/visual love letter to Tron created for fans with some of the filmmaking techniques I've learned over the years.
I hope you all enjoy it.

P.S. I too loved the Daft Punk compositions (and wrote the short with those exact tracks in mind), but anytime it went up with those tracks, it was immediately pulled... So I wrote a new score.

I was good with the Lightcycle in the real world, its just when it left a trail that was, imho, too much. Superb work though, without a doubt. Seeing it made me really really really really want T3 to happen right now!

I did find it funny how the guard managed to get up all those stairs so quickly.

I have to say, I'm torn.

On the one hand, I'm really impressed with the production values here. The custom score was terrific, and your props and VFX work are absolutely top notch. It's hard to believe that this is a fan film.

On the other hand, trying to bring more elements of the Grid into the real world is exactly the kind of thing I'm afraid they might do in the next movie, so seeing what could almost be an official trailer built around the idea kind of gives me the willies. It's like, "Damn, that was awesome! But I really hope they don't do anything like it in the sequel..."

That said, this is some genuinely awesome stuff. Can't wait to see whatever you do next.
