Thanks for the heads up. Now to see if Netflix has it

Sorry but I have to disagree. And yes, I know I'm likely in the minority again.

I thought the new stuff enhanced the films and added to the story for the most part. I especially liked the improvements done to Mos Eisley quite a bit.

Regarding the newer movies, I liked them too even though I thought the second film was easily the weakest of the bunch. I thought the third film made up for it though.

As far as George Lucas is concerned regarding the fanbase, I don't think it's a matter of being in or out of touch; I don't think he cares one way or the other. I'm of the opinion that the fanbase misses the point that they're his movies to alter or enhance as he sees fit. Also, the marketing side of the franchise certainly doesn't seem to be slowing down from what I can tell as I see new items on a constant basis in retail stores.

I think the movies being in 3D may make for an interesting tweak. At the rate technology is advancing in all aspects of society, it could fit in rather nicely.

I find it pretty amazing and perhaps shocking that George is the same guy who thought up THX1138... which is pretty much about a society that says to you, "You're going to take whatever we give you, no matter how shitty it is, and you're going to like it."abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Yeah, it seems pretty stupid that George hasn't released the OT in it's original form, but... isn't it going a bit too far to consider it "raping your childhood"?

I mean no disrespect to any of you hardcore SW fans, none at all, this is a simple question, not meant to offend. I understand the deep hatred you guys must have for this guy, he's gotta be a total douchebag. Is there anything else he did (aside from neglecting to release the films in their original form) that made those people who were singing in the trailer think of the guy as having raped their childhood?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

The theatrical cuts are on DVD. They were released on DVD back in 2004 or 2005. It's not as though the original negatives aren't in his possesion.

Personally, I don't mind a great deal of the changes. The proper Emperor in ESB? Cool. The monkey-eyed old woman always bothered me, and broke my immersion. Shrug. When it comes down to it, these are Lucas's films. The fact that they have fans is all well and good, but that's not how he sees it. He sees it as his baby. That's why he said even if the prequels didn't make money (which they made a ton of), he'd have made them anyway, just for himself.

Oh yeah another thing... and I can actually remember this being discussed in the early years after Jedi was released... the Prequels were intended to create an equally-balanced view of the Imperial side of things, give the audience a dual perspective in which there was no definite good guy or bad guy, and let the people decide for themselves.

By the time we actually got around to the beginning of the war... George Lucas jumped on the "Let's turn every creative project into a speculative metaphor for W. Bush's War on Terror", and Palpatine ended up masterminding the entire thing.

I don't know if I've ever said this on the board before, but actually I've never seen the Star Wars movies. I want to, really bad... I recorded The Phantom Menace, and tried watching it, but I didn't exactly get what was going on. Oh well, I'll keep it on my DVR and try to watch it in a year or so.

Start with episode 4 and never watch the prequels. That is the optimal experience.

We only have an Online Streaming membership to Netflix, we lost the DVDs we ordered and couldn't order new ones. We also don't have any local libraries. Any other suggestions? I mean, I could always pirate it, but that would make for considerably less quality.

user897returns Wrote:It was 2006, and they were called "bonus discs." To add insult to injury, they are straight ports from the 1993 LaserDisc masters, which makes them non-anamorphic. Add copious amounts of DNR and you get what we currently have. Unacceptable. The films need a proper restoration and release.

They weren't DNR'd. They weren't even touched at all. That was the problem a lot of people had. The altered cuts had been cleaned, and remastered, and the original ones weren't.

Shrug. Still comes down to the fact that they belong to Lucas. He can do what he wants. The *only* change I don't like to the old trilogy is the absurd musical number from Jedi. Doesn't need to be there. The rest of the changes I'm cool with, as they're either very minor (removing the black matte lines on the rancor in Jedi) or, IMO, improvements: The real emperor (Ian McDiarmid) in ESB instead of a woman with chimpanzee eyes, etcetera.

Call me a blasphemer, but I'm upset he didn't add back into Jedi, the scene of Luke building his saber on Tatooine, instead placing it in the bonus 8th Blu-ray.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill
