Reading another thread about how Tron was swayed back to Flynn's side just be being reminded so to speak, able to break Clu's subsequent programming, made me wonder about program loyalty. What causes it? Seemed in the first film, all you had to do was create a program and he/she was yours forever. Then in the Betrayal, we see how easily swayed the program population was to hating Users. Yet, there are still factions who believe, so why and how is that an occurence? Clu seemed to feel bitterness towards Flynn for his absences as if he had NO loyalty to maintain. I love you/I hate you was not random but Clu's decision to keep. And he chose hatred and betrayal.
It just seems in the first film, programs had to believe Users existed, and then they found out it was true, but their loyalty was not a given. They may believe but they don't worship Users anymore. Well, some do but most don't.
Forget it, Mr High and Mighty Master Control. You aren't making me talk.

Well, considering that in the arcade server, there was only ONE user...each program didn't have his/her own personal user. That may partly explain the difference right there. Everybody feels closer to something or someone that is personally theirs...imagine, say, having your very own dog rather than one you have to share with a large family of people. Bad analogy, but you get the idea.
And, programs in the new Grid seem to be created in a more advanced way. Perhaps this is due to technology being able to make them more complex. And, they seem mostly designed to be able to evolve and such, rather than perform strict functions. Especially Clu--he was created straight from Flynn, and so we assume especially had access to User-like emotions and tendencies.
Besides, not all of the programs in the original film believed in Users... What do you want? I'm busy.
Program, please!
Chaos.... good news. |
