we see a lot of these mirror situations in the movie

i just recently read the mirror situation of clu's speech with kevin

then i seem to remember a thread on flynn being an absent father to sam
is a mirror of flynn being an absent father to clu

then the situation of clu's takeover of the grid is mirrored by kevin's
takeover of encom in the first movie

flynn's attitude of not taking an "active" part in taking over the grid is a mirror
of sam's attitude of not taking an "active" part in taking over encom

one or two might be coincidence but more than two - is by design
it somehow feels ... karmic (to paraphrase flynn)
