Anecdote

on Sunday, April, 10, 2011 2:09 AM
So I got my Tron Legacy 5-disc dealio in the mail yesterday. I don't own a Blu Ray player yet, but I decided buying for the future would be wise. It came with a DVD, though, so I popped it in while I sat to do some mindless busywork homework I'd been assigned.

My parents never saw it in theaters, so they came in and watched it with me from about the point where Sam goes into the Grid. Anyway, we're watching through the movie, and we get to the End Of Line scene.

"Hey guys," I said, "This is the part with the David Bowie guy who's awesome."

We're watching through and my mom turns to me and says, "Yeah, he does look like him. Interesting character... I didn't expect him to be a bad guy. Do you have an action figure of him yet? He's neat."

So anyway, how's your day.

I think we may have scared Wheat King off with all the Suck Master bashing.

I wouldn't blame WK. He might have no say at all in the operations there. Just a guy trying to make a buck. Bash the company, but take it easy on WK, I say. He probably agrees with everything we've said about the SM issue.

Unless we find out he's like the prez or something. Then it's anything goes. LOLwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Funny story!

I agree about the WK personal bashing though, it's more than enough. Without Wheat King we wouldn't have half the knowledge we have of the line. We wouldn't have known that Castor got bumped from S2 (and potentially spent that much more time looking for him.) I wouldn't have known that the 2" S3 stuff was so rare and could have potentially missed out on that. He gave us an inside look at the line (both good and bad) that I appreciated. He likely didn't have much say in the distribution or exactly what ended up on store shelves, he seemed as big a fan of the stuff as any of us.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

You know it's funny, talking with Paul (Wheat King) he says that the people that bash SM and all that jazz on here are the same ones that ask him to hook them up with a Castor figure....ridiculous.

User897, watch the language and keep the hate posts in check. No more warnings.

Going pretty good so far. How about you?

Just fantastic, aside from a bunch of HW I have to finish tonight, and an application for a scholarship that's due tomorrow and still missing letters of recommendation.

Don't worry about me, I can take it. I had a lot of issues with the toy line too, from distribution, to filling retailer orders that were too big, down to the way a lot of the sculpting turned out. I do like Spin Master as a company and plan to work here for a while, but I also see why a lot of folks on here were disappointed with how this all went down. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Sounds like retail is hell on all fronts of the market. Thanks for the work you do.

It's a shame to see what happened, but like I said in a different thread, I think it's wrong to put the blame on you. I also think Disney had a little too much control over the line (not a shock). I imagine there were decisions made by Disney that SM had no control over, which resulted in less-than-satisfactory conditions, situations and product quality. I'm glad to hear you echo the majority of the sentiment here, Wheat. It's gotta be tough to be forced to just 'sit back and watch'.

Do you think that the company has learned from the mistakes on this line and will apply them to other lines going forward?

I'm sure we all appreciate the amount of communication that you've been able to provide us, which in the toy business is rather lacking I'm afraid. I really hope that at some point you're able to give us the real skinny on what happened to the Legacy Line and where you felt like it succeeded and where it failed.

It's weird, I kind of feel like it's a line that will still be discussed a decade from now...

I'll be bemoaning the Castor thing for years to come. I only started collecting because I wanted a Lightcycle, Rinzler, and Castor.

The vehicles from the core series rock. They really do. Rolling could be better, but they are very nice to look at.

Yep, all of the light cycles are well done. The die casts are great too. I've even grown to like the core figs. The 7" guys are superfluous imo and no one was going to pay $40 for the 12" guys. The 2" guys are suspect too although they ironically got some of the best and most exclusive items in the set (Castor, Siren, Arcade, Rinzler Bike.)

I'm very happy with what I've gotten, but if I had to pay ebay/amazon prices for a KF Disc I may have been a little more pissed.
