Hey everyone,
I just saw a commercial for MythBusters on Discovery Channel and apparently they are going to do a Behind The Scenes segment on the special effects of TRON: Legacy. It's all part of the Blu-Ray/DVD promotion. It's supposed to air Wednesday night. I didn't catch the time, but I'm assuming the primetime hours. I just thought I would spread the word.

No, sorry I don't have a link. I just happened to catch it on TV when MythBusters was on earlier this evening. They said something to the effect of, "Join us Wednesday night when we go behind the scenes and take a look at the special effects of TRON: Legacy", something along those lines. I just checked the Mythbusters site and there's nothing on there about it. Was it just an ad DURING Mythbusters, or are they actually doing an MB episode on it? It sounds like Discovery Channel fodder perhaps, but not a Mythbusters topic...

No, it was Adam's voice. It was in conjunction with other topics and other episodes that will be airing that night (maybe something about Valkyrie?). It does seem a bit odd for a Mythbusters topic, but I didn't think about it at the time, I was just so excited they were doing something about TRON! No, man, you've got it all wrong.
You see, I crashed this car filled with propane into a wall that was on fire and the car exploded. That proves that the myth of the ISOs is BUSTED.
I also launched a turkey out of a custom-built super-high powered air cannon and it broke something. Digitization is plausible.

Ja... that's exactly what I'm confused by... what in the world from T:L could mythbusters possibly have the technology to even try to test?
Though I'm pretty sure Jet's little maneuver off the ENCOM building is bust. I don't think its possible to open a chute in such a short time and expect to not become a pancake.

Sam did have a rough landing, but he definitely fell for far too long. That's actually a pretty standard, safe pull distance landing. Was he even falling long enough to reach the necessary velocity to get the chute fully open though?
There's probably also the question of whether or not he could control it to keep from smashing into a building. A city street isn't a very wide space to turn in.
