When she is brought before Clu by Rinzler, Clu circles her and asks her where her disk is. What is the ramification of her not having it, since she left it with Sam and Flynn?

Yes, I know, but she had to have had some purpose to be caught diskless. My first thought was, to avoid being repurposed, but did she imagine the Flynn's would try to rescue her?

Oh!
Her disc contained the "DNA" for ISO's, which Flynn planned on using towards the benefit of Mankind.
That's why she gave it to him.

Well, for one, I assume she didn't want Clu looking at it and figuring out what they'd been up to...
And the tone he uses is condescending--the way you might ask a little kid--not questioning, so he probably knows precisely why she doesn't have a disc.

Either way, giving up your disc and running into a bad situation is asking for mercy. Especially from Rinzler, who has clearly given up his "game honor" and will not think twice to derez your face if you throw at him.
The fact that she gives her disc to Flynn proves two points. She does not want the disc captured, and she does not want to fight.

I don't think her's was the only one with that info, since she didn't have her disc during the I/O portal scene... Good bet that Papa Flynn put all that info on his disc.
I think that since CLU was a copy of Flynn, he could probably spot-rectify a program like how Flynn did to the sentry guarding the light jets, so Quorra probably gave up her disc to keep herself safe.

Well, I've wondered about that. I have to wonder if her disc swap with Kevin at the end was a way of saying that she and Sam were worth more to him than the ISO data. Like he'd give up on his dream, and die to save the two people he loved most.
I guess we'll have to wait for a sequel to see if they got the ISO data out.

yeah, i figured the same. but i also like the whole 'leaving her disc behind to show she's defenseless' theory.
i don't think she needs her disc to show her dna info, otherwise sam would still have his and flynn's disc on him after he got out of the grid.

And, of course, why did she do it at all?
Did she think it would be a diversion? In reality, didn't she actually just let Clu et al know that she and the Flynns were there when they may not've known before? I mean, she didn't try to fight, or anything...just purposely let herself get captured. And then she had to be rescued anyway. So what purpose did it serve, besides giving Sam a chance to "save" her?

I thought it served as a distraction.
