Kat Wrote:Hey, anybody else had any trouble with a computer reading the original soundtrack? It worked fine on my Windows computer at work yesterday, but the Mac just gets hung up (it reads R3configured just fine). Just a click-shuffle like it's trying but nothing happens, and finally it gives up and spits it out. Does the color of the disc give it fits or something?

I haven't had any problems with the original soundtrack disc being read on my computer or in my car. However, one of the biggest complaints I have read about the disc is the playing surface being black instead of the normal silver. It looks visually striking but some older players do have problems trying to read the black playing surface from what I've read.
Maybe that's the problem. I know this machine is probably several years old, so that makes sense. Haven't tried the CD in my car or anything.

Well, I ripped it at work, so maybe I'll burn what I ripped to a regular CD and load it onto the Mac that way. I want it in iTunes, dammit. I don't wanna have to work to put it on the iPod.

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

TRON.dll Wrote:[Reconfigured] has made me question what exactly defines a remix. The first track sounded like Derezzed slowed down 50% with some extra synths added in and some of the others (like Fall) didn't even sound like the original song that was being remixed. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy listening to the songs on the album, it's just that I'm not sure what defines a remix anymore because of it.

I odn't get the Avicii remix. Not a mix at all. Just a similiar melody.
As to The Fall, agreed. It's pretty much an original track that samples the synth bass stem from The Fall.

After the "Fall" synth bass part, I love how it has a early Phil Collins/Genesis sound to it. I also love the fade out at the end. It reminds me of the fade out on solar sailer, from the original Tron soundtrack. It is a well done remix. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Add me to the Bio-Digital Jazz Remix comp fan club please! There were only a couple songs on the Reconfigured comp that I could get into, but Bio-Digital was more in line with the spirit of Daft Punk's original score and with the overall aesthetic of Tron in general. To each their own I guess!

Yes, to each their own. I remember a lot of reviews stating only two or three songs that were good. Funny thing is, most of the two or three song were different for each critic. To each their own.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

Most of the R3CONF1GUR3D tracks were edited to such an extreme that they are unrecognizable as TRON. They were good for what they were, but I'm left wondering what the point was.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

That IS the point. It is an artists interpretation of the original song. Every song still has its essence. Just listen, I know it's hard to hear it, to the crowd's response. They know it's from Tron: Legacy. They love it. You may like club or extended mixes, like Photek's "End of Line" as apposed to trance or house remixes. I like it all. I like it for driving fast, and "other" stuff

I actually prefer electronic music with a heavy darkwave emphasis. The Frozen Autumn, Cruxshadows, Clan of Xymox. That's why the original T:L tracks were my thing. The remixes bring it too close to ordinary techno to me. But if that's your thing, that's cool.

well mindless faith did a fan remix, so you have that option on the darkwave front.

we all have artists we would love to see take a stab at it, they did a remix contest for that very reason. truth is, the artists they chose sell records. i may not not enjoy all of them but i can logically see why. look at club playlists, beatport, itunes, etc. the choices move units and nightclubs aren't going to drop scores onto the dancefloor.

heck looking at the remix contest 95% of the entries were 'techno' artists. only shocker i saw out of the reconfigued disc was a lack of dubstep, far from something i personally collect but obviously the current club trend the last year or two in the U.S.

I just think of techno/electronica mixes being the modern version of the "Theme and variations" in classical music. There are times there, too, when you look at the original theme, and then one of the variations, and say, "this is the same song???" And other times when the two are practically the same and you wonder what the point was.

Hell, if it's been happening for centuries, we might as well continue the trend.
