Tron in Your Life

on Tuesday, March, 15, 2011 4:25 PM
Has something ever happened to you or said something to you and you immediately thought of Tron and kinda smirked to yourself? Or thought that this is just like Tron?

For example, today at work something happened to the electrical grid and they need to clean out the area near a hole to the grid so they could have a look and fix the problem without anyone getting electrocuted to death. Problem was that they kept calling it "The Grid" and I was smiling to myself the entire time and really just wanted to say "Welcome to the Grid". Except it was my boss, so I didn't.

Pfft. I'd say it to my boss. And he'd say "huh?" And I'd say "nothing" and go laugh somewhere.

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

Chaos.... good news.

Well I was driving down south with my mom and sister for a girls night out weekend and it was later in the evening when my mom was on the freeway and we were passing the airport in the more industrial part of the city and the airplanes moving in for landing had their orangish lights on...I was like "Oh, look Recogniz-" I caught myself.

I'm on a Zach Quinto fansite and people will say he's been off the grid, meaning he hasn't posted on FB or tweeted much of late. Yeah, I grin. Some terms will aways be Tron related now.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I work in a consumer electronics store and my area of responsibility (cleaning, re-stocking etc) is laptops, PCs and Macs, and the area manager likes to have "soundzones" throughout the areas, so every second table of machines has one set up with cool speakers pumping out a wide range of music at moderate volume. There's all sorts on there - Dylan, Glen Campbell, Blue Oyster Cult, John Mayer, Billy Joel, Alice Cooper to name a couple - and I've put on Daft Punk's first two albums, as well as the Legacy OST and BasicSlack's remix tracks. One customer committed to buying one particular speaker set after hearing Derezzed :-D.

Last week I think it was, I was selling a TV to a guy, and as I was talking "Recognizer" started playing on a stereo behind me! I felt like I was a bad guy haha!

Well, I'm only the student. So I can be easily fired and my evaluation will determine whether I can find another student position for my next work term and graduate University.

These are awesome stories guys.

I hate it when you make a reference to something that is an obvious reference to a well-known movie, especially one such as Tron that has been integrated into so many areas of pop culture, and no one gets it. Their stares seem to say "is this guy retarded? what's he talking about?" But as you and I all know, they are the one who look dumb for not recognizing such obvious references.

MCPComputer:

Is that your boss' actual name? If so, LMAO!!!!!!!! Time to pull a FLYNN on him, LOL!!!!!

In reference to the OP's original topic, Tron is in my life in the following ways:
1)I'm working on a long-term video project: a short documentary about how the line between science fiction and reality is erasing steadily, and I have a Tron-style opening I'm working on; I'll post the opening on here soon and when I get the whole thing done I'll post a link;
2)I've got the original Tron on my PSP, have the 20th Anniversary Special Edition DVD, have a fanfic I'm working on (it's VERY slow, as Fatherly, Husbandly and Independent Video Production responsibilities have been center stage), have Tron Evolution on my PS3, and when I was young, I plunked quarter after quarter into the original Tron, found an arcade TODAY that has a pristine '82 Tron Cabinet and have played it a bunch of times;
3)Whenever I'm doing any thing involving system scans on my personal computer, I always make some kind of Tron-related remark, LOL!!!!!! Funny thing is, my Wife and 4-year old Daughter (who LOVES both TRON and TL), actually get it!

Fighting for TRON, The USERS, Both Flynns, Independents, and the mighty ISOs since '82.
