This program has no disc!

Look at her! She has no disc! What is going on? How does she live? I always thought discs were...you know, vital, no matter what a programs function. Even the barmaid should have a disc...right?abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Remember when Sam was picked up by the Recognizer patrol at the beginning of the movie? Remember what the guard said when he grabbed him?

"This program has no disc. Another stray."

And then he was brought in and fitted with a disc in preparation for the games. So it seems that programs can survive without a disc - I take the "If you lose the disc or fail to follow commands, you will be subject to immediate deresolution" line to mean that if you're caught without a disc, you will be subject to punishment, up to and including the possibility of being derezzed on the spot.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Mayor: "Is this true?"

Venkhman: "Yes it's true. This man has no disc."

First thing that popped into my head when I saw the thread title.

Hmm yea, its just though, shes obviously not a stray program...she has a function, she's not just on the run like some rogue program with no purpose...

Plus, if its like a crime to not have a disc, why wouldn't she have one...order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

No idea, but we can speculate!

- She might be a member of the rebel underground opposing Clu, and didn't want to run the risk of revealing sensitive data. We've seen how easy it is for Clu to read data from a program's disc. If "everything you do or learn [is] imprinted on this disc", having a high-ranking rebel's disc fall into the hands of the Black Guards would be a Bad Thing.

- She might be involved in illicit dealings on the Grid, and doesn't want to carry around her disc in public for the same reasons described above.

- The filmmakers wanted an excuse to show us someone wearing a sexy backless Tron outfit. ; )

Those are a few ideas off the top of my head. I'm sure you can come up with others. : )

Second theory: she was there to get herself a forged disc.

I'm gonna go with the "it didn't work with the outfit" excuse as the most likely one, but if we want to skip the real-world explanation...maybe certain professions don't wear theirs at work? No, I can't think of a plausible reason right now, but just like, say, some construction workers don't wear their wedding rings for safety or practical reasons, or there are some places you just don't carry your official ID as a cop, maybe some programs take off the disc for certain jobs. I dunno.

(Now I kinda wanna go through the EOL Club scene slowly and see if she's the only one, lol)

Hell--sidebar here-- I'm still slightly stumped by discs anyway. How do you sleep with it on (isn't Flynn shown lying on his back in the safe house scene before he gets up to go find Sam? HOW??)? How does it work with jackets and stuff--every time you take your jacket on and off, you have to switch your disc back and forth? That thing would annoy the shit out of me. ( I KNOW I'd be standing around saying "dude, we're in a COMPUTER, and we can't come up with the technology to make this smaller and pocket-sized??? If I need my info and a weapon, give me a little USB drive I can shove in my pocket or wear around my neck, and a .357 I can stick wherever it's comfortable!")abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

What do you want? I'm busy.

Program, please!

That's definitely possible. She was in the right place for it. : )

My first thought was that if the disc is only in "record mode" while it's attached to the disk dock of the program it belongs to, Castor might make a point of having the serving staff not wear their discs while they're working, so that the club's patrons can conduct their business without fear of their conversations being overheard and recorded. Then I remembered that Clu was able to view the details of Sam's past before he had ever been fitted with a disc, which torpedoed that theory. : /

Though it does suggest another possibility. Maybe Castor recruits staff for the club from the discless strays and runaways (I notice the program in the picture was carrying a tray; perhaps she's a server?) because they don't have discs?

It's a good point. I wonder if ordinary programs do sleep, and if so, if they do it lying down, or if they just slot themselves into a wall niche and enter "sleep mode" like the Sirens did after they outfitted Sam...

Clearly, she's not a program. Possibly just a Macro or a Script.

I don't think so, I mean she definitely WORKED there, shes carrying a tray of drinks, shes like, a barmaid.

Maybe since Castor/Zuse is so shifty he doesn't want his employees carrying around discs? though...Daft Punk and Lisberger had discs....hmm...

Also, when a disc is like, the primary weapon of a program, and EVERY one has one, it seems silly to me that she "left hers at home". Its a rough system! What if she needs to defend herself? Hmm...Unless she checked it in the EoLC's employees lounge when she came into work...order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Fifth Theory: She's carrying it somewhere other than on her back.

Kat Wrote:Hell--sidebar here-- I'm still slightly stumped by discs anyway. How do you sleep with it on (isn't Flynn shown lying on his back in the safe house scene before he gets up to go find Sam? HOW??)?

Sleeping with one's disk on is veeery uncomfortable; I can tell you that from experience. I fell asleep in the car on the way home from ElecTRONica - I had a red mark in the shape of the disk on my back for a week after that. Of course, it's funny now - and it was kind of funny then - but it's not an activity that I'd recommend doing on purpose.

Atleast once I've fallen asleep facedown with my disc sitting on my back, ahaha. Maybe they all sleep face down...or standing up like the Sirens. abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion
