I was wondering about that barrier that Flynn, Sam and Quorra walk through at his house. Seems to have touchpoints like a grid, and makes a slight sound when its penetrated. Not a forcefield, surely, since they come and go at will, human and ISO. Can anyone tell me what that is? Thanks!

Grid window? LOL...I was wondering about that too. Perhaps it was a low level force field that could keep unauthorized people or maybe grid bugs out. After all Flynn lived in the outlands where things could get sketchy. It reminded me of the containment fields on Star Trek. Like the ones in the shuttle bays that would keep the atmosphere from being blown out into space everytime they opened the shuttlebay doors. Those fields were even gentle enough to allow a shuttle to pass through like a permeable membrane without allowing atmosphere leakage into space.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion "Word to the Motherboard!" - IsoLine |

I *believe* it to be a kind of cloaking field that is hidding the Safe House from being found.
Only when Clu's forces obtained Flynn old 2nd gen white Light Cycle could they analyze it and trace it back to the Safe House...

Well, End of Line Club had it too, in Castor's personal room thing. Maybe it's just a sound barrier or something?

Yes that was true. I noticed it when Gem walked partially through it.
I had to laugh though. Flynn's house is sooo lit up when the lights are on, that in that darkness, you'd think it would be a bit exposed to detection?on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

Oh, no, no no. I'm not mad, you haven't broken any rules, ask as many questions as you want. I'm just saying it'd be better if there was one thread where you asked your questions instead of more than that. Like, next time you have a question, instead of starting a new thread, ask it here. A suggestion, that's all. |
No probs,LW. I was just excited to see a Tron forum. I'll still tone it down and enjoy reading others' posts.

Just saw T:L today for the third time and I came up with something that I wondered about. Why do the programs wear helmets? I mean, they get it with a disk to the gut, no helmet is going to protect them. They get knocked off the cycles and derezz, helmet or no helmet. Sam's was activating when he wielded his disk, UNTIL the light cycle battle where Clu is after him just prior to Quorra's appearance on the track. No helmet rezzed up.
And why does Clu sit with his on when he's just chillin'?

And another observation that agrees with some other comments I have read. When Flynn blows up, he takes the Rectifier with him but they are over the Sea of Simulation, so I will assume the blast did not hit the City and that is what Sam downloaded. Since this was my 3rd viewing, it really seemed obvious to me this time round.

They stopped showing it in my area at the first-run theaters.
Gotta wait for the budget theater to get a reel now.
They wear helmets because a program can still sustain head damage without derezzing. Remember the guy next to Sam in the Recognizer, the one who growled at Sam? He had the left side of his head damaged. Obviously the helmets do the same thing they do for us in real life.
Also, Clu was wearing it primarily to make a greater reveal to Sam and the less-hardcore viewers.
With the robes, I thought it was Abraxas from Tron: Evolution for a short time.

A safe enough conclusion.

That's where I saw it, last two times, my dollar theatre. I was glad to see it still had quite a few people contributing to the overall $ take. :-) |

Well, I mean, why wear a motorcycle helmet? You fall off and go skidding down the road and all your skin goes AWOL, or you get clotheslined and decapitated, or you get smashed by a truck, a helmet won't save you. But in some situations, it might just keep your skull intact(ish).
Clu probably wears his just to be badass. (Real-world answer: the producers didn't want us to see his face at that point, but it's so boring thinking of it from the real-world standpoint all the time...)

Y'know, when I watched it the second time, I looked close and it STILL looked to me like everything got blown up...I had assumed Sam just saved whatever data might be left, and the info on his dad's disc (in my fanfic, the Grid is badly damaged and he salvages what info/coding he can, and stuff from his dad's disc, to rebuild a new version).

Funny how the film makers don't want us to see things ahead of time, but come on, how many people didn't know it was Clu under there? Nothing is secret anymore, with the Net.
I might be funny and the next time a big shocker scene comes up in a movie, I'll go *gasp* "Ahhh....I had no idea!"

I agree- this isn't explained well in the movies, but when you look at it from a production standpoint, it makes more sense- at least when it comes to helmets in lightcycle matches. The lightcycle scenes are almost completely CG except for the 2 or 3 shots where you see Sam's face in the bike. When it's completely CG like that, having to completely computer animate everyone's face takes alot of time and effort that isn't really necessary. As for the disk battles, they wear them to protect the heads from being hit during gravity switches- that's at least my theory. |
Did Clu's balls (the ones he's playing with in his hand) have anything to do with the gravity changes? I only noticed on my second viewing that the sign showed a change about to occur which Rinzler saw and Sam didn't.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I suppose that can be true, LW, but when I like a film, I tend to analyze every part of it, curious to know what the film makers had in mind when they wrote it. Must come from being a writer myself.

Concerning the meditation orbs, I always assumed the focusing of the camera on the orbs in conjunction with the arena gravity shifting was some film-making style of Kosinski's, and that the orbs and gravity shift were unrelated.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion
