Back to the performance. Well, the broadcast version was pretty terrible aurally. But in the stadium the energy made my hair stand on end. It was the perfect performance for a halftime in my opinion. |
Yes, I do live audio(okay just run sound for my contemporary format church on Sunday mornings) and keep up with live audio forums and the recent topic of discussion is the horrible broadcast audio.
A local Austin radio host tweeted me and said the stadium half-time audio was great, so some TV audio engineers dropped the ball on their split-off from the stage feed. They would have rehearsed this days before. Popular theory is that some broadcast digital mixer got reset and saved mix settings, mute-cues, etc for the broadcast halftime mix were lost.

I really liked the Half Time show. I'm not a massive B.E.P's fan but I do like them. Truthfully, I couldn't hear the sound very well at the party I was at, so I can't fully comment on the singing or sound quality. I know though, I was like, "HEY! They're SO wearing Tron style outfits! This is so Tron!" I missed the,"Light Cycle" or that would have been a dead give away. At any rate, I thought the dancers with the lights on were awesome and that whole aspect of the show was very cool. Everyone who was watching, where I was at, all agreed it was visually awesome.
I agree that any promotion is still promotion. Which is cool.
jimboonie Thanks for that info/insight! Great read! You're right about broadcast audio not always being the greatest. So things don't always translate as well.

The Tron inspired look caught my eye during the half time show, but once I started watching it my big smile slowly melted into a WTFSADPHACE. Looked cool, but the performance was t3h suck. Fergie (sp?) sounded like Eddie Vedder when she was doing the Axel Rose impression. :\ I ended up heading to my friends garage for some arcade game and beer action till it was over.

You all shouldn't be so harsh because what you saw during the stupor bowl is one of the stars of Tron 3: Justin Bieber and the composers of the sountrack: BEP.
All of the Tron stuff you saw was most likely done with the permission of Disney to gauge the response of their new expanded target market.

English:
The only video of Tron on Ice that I know of was a short clip on a Disney on Ice promotional advertisement. The "1982 Tron Holiday Special" never existed, and was limited to a joke promotional video that you probably saw.
Lazy Russian translation (don't know if this will show up for anyone):

The fact that BEP and Justin Beiber were chosen to represent Tron disgusts me. Disney must think that Daft Punk is the only electronic band in existence. It would have been amazing to see a group like Orbital or the Crystal Method, etc. do a Tron themed performance. There are so many amazing bands Disney could have paid to perform that would have really made Tron way cooler than it already is. But no. First of all, Black Eyed Peas have lost court cases for stealing other artists music. They are a bunch of talentless hacks, and they're music sucks with or without the auto-tuning crap that every artist with no talent uses.
And Justin Beiber...seriously!? It's a slap in the face to all the people that truly love cyberpunk for the amazing genre it is. Turning Tron into just another mainstream phenomena really diminishes the experience of being a true fan.

Agree. This is one reason I love Tron. I don't like Star Wars, LOTR, or Star Trek. Tron is for me. But in the corporate world, it has to be mainstream or else no more Tron for us.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

The Crystal Method is a famous American electronic group. They're basically The Chemical Brothers American rivals. Their music is in several commercials (Victorias Secret, several car commercials). Their music is amazing. where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Yeah, they do the theme song for the TV show "Bones". My favorite song of theirs is "Sine Language". See, I was also thinking it would be cool if The Prodigy did Tron, right?

Hell yes.
