DevRevenge Wrote:Well I'm glad to hear that you had your request in at SD before I posted about them. I got my 'order' in a few days before RSD but I was only counting on one. After or close to the end of business they emailed me and said they had all three colors waiting. I don't mind since they likely went to other Tron fans/collectors, I was just curious how they had fulfilled your order. And also like you said, I'm down to one color to get and it seems to be the most common one. Hopefully it won't be too bad
As for the trade-in that should do it. They accept late trade ins but I'd just send the game in as soon as you get it. Note that this strategy won't work for all collector's editions, but in Tron Evos case the game that comes separately is the same game/case that comes with the collector's editions. If the UPCs were different or marked 'not for resale' as in the case of a lot of collector's editions Amazon would reject the trade-in.

Yes, I did a search on Record Day Stores the day that RSD was first talked about here, and tried reserving at several different stores on the list (there weren't many accepting reservations). I would have posted the link to Strictly Discs, but I'd never heard of them before, and when I called them, they gave me the same line about 'either we'll get nothing, only one color, or all colors...we won't know till RSD'. They also said that they already had a LONG list of reservations for that title. I was far from optimistic. I basically wrote them off along with the other stores I had contacted. So nothing stood out with them to make me feel confident in sharing SD or any other store with the Sector. It wasn't till the day before RSD that I talked to Angie about my shipping info (as instructed in their newsletter that I signed up for), and she said she would try to get all 3 for me. Again...took it with a grain of salt. Then the next Monday when I called her to see if I got anything, she told me I was going to be receiving all 3. I about dropped the phone. lol. Then, unfortunately, the fiasco with the lost shipping label...panic...etc. lol. In the end: I was just plain uber lucky with the whole thing. If I knew there was a real chance at people here getting the same type of chance that I did, I would certainly have posted the link. As far as I was concerned, though, there was just as much chance at getting the LPs through them...or any of the other RSD stores on the list. Again, I'm seriously glad you got the 2. Here's hoping #3 is an easy/cheap find for you
Thanks again for the info on Evolution. I seriously like the 'hybrid' look of the bike, and the fact that it comes with a display case. I had no idea that Amazon even did trade-ins. LOL. Learn something new every day! Very cool

Yeah that ultimately echoes my experience with them and I'm very grateful for Angie and the staff at Strictly Discs. Judging by the handful of people just on this forum that were able to get records through them they really hooked up the Tron community. I read your posts about your delivery and was happy to see that SDs customer service was able to piece your order back together. A lesser store might have just forgotten about the returned shipment.
You're welcome for the heads up on Amazon trade in, it's a great program for videogame players and Amazon shoppers. The Amazon credit is good for everything fulfilled by Amazon and most (all?) of their Featured Merchants. I haven't had one thing that I tried to use trade-in credit on and been denied, so it's a great way to stretch your gaming budget. Their values KILL Gamestop too and they pay for shipping so it's win-win.
Best Buy is starting up a trade-in program and you can lock in your values for up to a month, so it's worth it to compare prices at both sites. I personally shop a lot more at Amazon than I do BB though so their trade-ins are a little limited to me. But they do issue store credit on a gift card for the trade-ins. You can do it on their site and bring the game into your local store too for most titles.

Not sure where you live, but VCDs were never popular in the US.

They were known here as CD-I Movies and the CD-I players required a separate MPEG Decoder Module to play them (there was also a 3DO module available as well). A few titles did come out and are actually pretty rare as far as Video Game Collecting goes.
DVD came in on the heels of these which is why they never took off (I remember getting a CD-I player at the Philips Outlet for $129 a few months after getting the all new DVD player at Best Buy).

Did you actually GET a Yellow record? Was it from Sound City Beaches (ebay seller name?)
I got one from them after you posted, and wrote them to confirm color before they sent. They said they can't guarantee color and even stated it in the auction (which is bullshit because they listed that it might have a small variance such as a sticker missing, NOT a different f'ing color.) Anyway I pretty much told them that they needed to make sure to send me a yellow or blue one, cause I already have the red one.
Of course I get the red one today. Fired off a nasty email through ebay, we'll see how they decide to respond. I've never opened up a case with paypal before but I'm pissed enough now to do it. If all they had was red that's what they should have told me, those records (he had four auctions) all sold out that day. He could have relisted no problem, but he had to be a jerk.
Well if he doesn't offer a proper refund he's gonna be the jerk giving away a free record.
Does anyone perchance have an extra blue or yellow record that they want to trade for a red straight up?where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Thanks User, that's what I told him. The seller posted at least four of the records on ebay for BIN of $13.95. They all obviously sold within hours. I told him of my color preference, and that if they only had red that I would rather not bother. Would it have been that hard to check with the person sending the records out and see what color they were? The seller was in Cali and they were sent from New York so I understand the logistics, but it just seems they were so eager to make the sale they didn't care if they got an unhappy customer.
It's not a HUGE deal cause I think I could still turn around a few bucks profit based on what I paid, I was just excited to actually get another color that I didn't have before. We'll see what happens.

i live in the philippines and vcds were the thing here before dvds. people didnt use vcd players, we all had pcs to play the vcds. but that all easily went away as soon as the dvds started coming. so i guess even if vcds are still marketed here, sadly no one buys them. i myself havent bought one for a while now so when i saw tron legacy i thought itd be nice to add to my collection. so little tron merch reached this side of the world, i like to get everything in my reach, even if everything here is double the prices there, literally. for example12 inch figs are 3000 pesos. thats 70 dollars there. sam lightcycle is 1500,35 dollars. so i order what isnt here online and have them shipped. Well the Wii version is completely different from the PS3/360/PC version.

That's true, I mean it's essentially a separate game... although he still owns the same thing twice, so there's still redundancy. All I'm wondering is why own it for multiple systems? I'd understand if you had a console version and a handheld version, because they're also different games, but...

Yeah I agree. Ultimately I went with the PC version of Tron Evolution for my "next gen/hd" version, grabbed the Wii version of Battle Grids for $15 @ amazon, and am waiting for a good price for the DS game. I might pick up the PSP game but I don't have a PSP and may never so I'm not sure if that would be a wise purchase.
I don't see much reason to own the PC, 360 and PS3 versions of Tron Evolution but if I had friends that played online with each version then I could see why.

Ah, that makes sense.
Also, the DS version is monumentally bad. I own it, and it's just horrible. The graphics are awesome, but the gameplay is essentially the same thing over and over and over again. You just throw your disc at enemies and do the "hacking into the terminal" puzzles, which are also the same thing over and over again. The only thing it's good for is portable grid games, such as Lightcycles, Disc Wars, Tank Battles, and a Reco racing game called Recognizer Run.
