Maybe I'm not all that hip to rave music or whatever, I've never heard of these guys who did the covers and often, they have very little to do with the track they're supposed to be covering. That and some of them . . . kinda suck or at least get better after a really long intro. Some just slow down the actual song and add a "Uuntz, uuntz" track into the background . . . WTH stop trying to bore me!

At least I have it. One good mix for "End of Line", oh and whoever did "Clu" was doing some awesome work near the end of that piece.

I guess I shouldn't have expected much more. It must be hard turning a score into dance techno.

Aw, damn. I just ordered this. I liked what I heard of the samples on Amazon or wherever I listened. Of course, the samples were probably the good parts.

Oh well. If I hate it, maybe my partner will like it. He's more into techno than I am and anybody who's okay with the Tiesto version of Barber's "Adagio for Strings" obviously has no taste in music so it should be cool.

Ordered the regular soundtrack too. Just waiting for it to arrive....ordered a bunch of stuff and one of the pieces of sheet music I went for says it'll take 1-3 weeks to ship. Grr. But I don't feel like paying extra for shipping to get the other stuff I ordered earlier.

I went the same route. I heard some samples and it sounded good. Maybe you will like it, but I was seriously let down after struggling through a listen of it.

Funny, that Tiesto album is one of my favorites and conceptually it reminds me a lot of the Daft Punk Tron soundtrack (not just in the obvious use of Adiagio for Strings.) I think I have exceptional taste in music but to each their own.

For what it's worth I quite like the R3configured album. Not as much as the source material but I think there are enough interesting songs there to warrant a purchase. There are some songs that aren't great though, and others that took me awhile to get into.

I guess for me it lacked the professional polish and orchestration of the original soundtrack. I was probably looking forward to something that followed in the same vein as the first soundtrack. It's a much different tone and mix. There are a couple songs that have 'grown' on me. But comparing it to the first, there's no comparison. Obviously everyone has different tastes, which is cool. The Daft Punk soundtrack was my first foray into that genre. A very different style of music for me. I think with the Reconfigured, it went a bit too far in that direction, though. I liked the orchestra backing up Daft Punk. Most of Reconfigured is almost purely electronic. Maybe if I listen to it a few more times it will grow on me more. I always give everything a fair shake. I never give a new album a single listen. I never give a movie a single viewing. Sometimes it takes awhile for things to actually grow on us.

That's a good analysis from someone who isn't into 'techno' and illustrates one of the reasons I was so disappointed that Daft Punk weren't nominated for Best Original Score. I feel like people wrote them off without even listening to the score, they felt it was purely an electronic foray when DP actually utilized a full orchestra magnificiently. They proved to be great composers and I feel like if a different name were attached to the project it would have been nominated. That the preconceived notions of what 'Daft Punk' should sound like kept them from getting votes. I could be totally off base but I definitely feel that way.

And you're right, someone who doesn't like electronic music would have a hard time digesting R3configured. Even for me it goes a little too far in places, someone expecting more of the same that they got in the original soundtrack will be very surprised. It's VERY electronic and experimental in spots, and some songs even have vocals which is off-putting compared to the original score.

edit: I really like R3configured but it took me awhile to get there. It's not in the same league as the Tron Legacy Soundtrack. Or that Tiesto album that Kat mentioned order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

Agreed with everything you said. They were written off, which is sad. The orchestral backing rounded out their sound and provided a full and more expressive sound than going purely electronic. Quite an amazing and unique soundtrack. Worthy of nomination, no doubt! What most impressed me was their ability to blend the modern electronic with a traditional orchestra. Not to mention that the music seriously added to the movie, almost perfectly matching the mood of every scene.

I'll give Reconfigured more 'air time'. My kid loves it, so it can't be all bad. lol

They should be $20 on clearance at your local Disney store, which is the cheapest I've seen them.

Apparently they don't work that great with regard to the sticking to the walls. I checked out a couple of youtube reviews, and whilst some reviewers liked them and seemed to have no problems, others thought they weren't worth the cash (originally priced about $30) as the they seem a bit finicky with regard to the texture of the wall on which they're being used (and they need a super smooth surface on which to run, so they don't work that great on the floor, unless you have hardwood, I guess). I might snag one eventually for the heck of it if I can find one clearanced to about $10...

Yeah $10 is the most I would pay for another one of those, and that would just be for completionist sake.

They are slow and don't work on even really tight carpet. I haven't even bothered using mine with the walls. I assure you that the picture on that link makes them look WAY better than they actually do too. I got a Clu one and the paint is sloppy and the yellow shines through the body.

They are total pieces of junk and to think that they might be the reason Spin Master got the line (Air Hogs) it just boggles the mind. If this was their trump I feel damn lucky the rest of the stuff turned out as good as it did. order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Well, we'll see if I like the R3configured CD...I'm very picky about my electronica; if it's too repetitive or "strange" I don't like it. Oh, hell, I'm picky about all music, but since electronica and techno isn't a genre I'm much into in general, that means I'm extra picky about that. So I'm hoping it works out okay for me.

Oh yeah, and I should add that everywhere I go on the 'net, I get the ad for the CD, heh...

I returned mine right after purchasing them when they were first released after looking at them more carefully at home.

lol yeah that's another good point gkarris

The cycles are so wide that they are damn near square. Seriously. They are deformed looking when looked at from above. I wish they had just built bad-ass RC light cycles, they should have scrapped the wall gimmick. The design really suffered just for some half-assed wall gimmick that doesn't even work well.

I would kill for some nice RC cycles about the size of the 4" scale, that would have been too much fun. Don't even dare to think about hobbyist style 1 man and 3 man RC jets.

I had a good TRON day. Went to Disneyland.....

Took lots of photos of the TRON things in the parks.

Bought the following:

TRON on DVD - Haven't seen this version in any store, found it at DCA.
All 8 TRON Legacy Vinylmation Figures
Two cool TRON pins, a disc pin and a Mickey pin.
The TRON Mickey Mouse ears.

I know I have said I wasn't adding to my collection, but I couldn't resist. Ultimately I will sell them, but for now...

What do you think of the vinylmations?

I really like their designs (most of them.) It's the only black-robed Kevin Flynn, and I liked the nod to original KF. My main gripe is that the boxes are sealed, so I have to destroy them to take them out.

They display nice enough in the box but I'd really like to see the backs at times.

We liked them as soon as we looked at them. I am probably going to carefully open mine so I can photograph them.

I am not sure what is "park exclusive" stuff, but there was still a lot of it. It's mostly all over in DCA, not Disneyland. The only items I found in Disneyland were the vinylmation characters in the art store on Main Street and 2 pins back at the exit for the Buzz Lightyear ride.

Those items were available in abundance at DCA too, so it's your one stop TRON shopping destination.

There were some elecTRONica hoodies that I am pretty sure were exclusive items, but I didn't note anything else.

Cool. Thanks.

The elecTRONica hoodie sounds cool, I'll likely snag one of those since they keep the air-conditioning in my building set to 'freezing' during the summer.
